“Exceeded our expectations”
Reviewed August 20, 2011

This was a last night of our holiday stop designed to provide us with a nights break on the way to the airport in Vancouver. Only wish we'd booked for a few more nights. We loved the town - very quiet and unspoilt. The motel was excellently located (we had Room 1 overlooking the lake) and the room large and very comfortable. It was a bit tired on the outside but very clean. certainly recommed it. Excellent value as well.

My wife, 4-year old daughter and I stayed here for 4 nights in July 2011. We stayed two nights in a two bedroom and two nights in a one bedroom (with foldout sofa bed). The owners take good care of this place and keep it clean and functional. We paid $85/night for peak season weekdays. Don't expect fancy furniture nor any extra niceties.

We actually liked the one bedroom better (room 28) as it felt more spacious with the sofa folded and there was a microwave and nice view from the balcony. The food in Harrison Hot Springs is generally overpriced and not that good in quality. Therefore, being the budget freak that I am, I HIGHLY recommend stocking up on easy to cook groceries in Chiliwack (nearest decent grocery store, recommend President's choice Superstore). If you do go out to eat, see my recommendations.

So....
Main positives: good price, clean, and location.
Main negatives: beds are too soft (if you're like me and like it firm), carefully communicate your price beforehand (one of the receptionist doesn't understand English well), and be aware of the cancellation policy (at least 72 hours).

Room Tip: We stayed in 20 and 28 (29 seemed nice to). Find out where the kids are staying and keep your distan...

If you associate small, traditional motels with bad service, smelly rooms with bedbug laden beds and a toilet you wouldn't even dare to sit on, then this little gem will surprise you. For $65 (walk-in rate) + tax you get a nice, clean room with a queen bed and a clean bathroom. Make no mistake, this is still a motel, but it's one that we will return to next time we're here.

Wifi access is an additional $2 for 24 hours.

Very well appointed rooms and kitchen. Some rooms have a kitchenette. Ours did and was very useful. Had pots, dishes, utensils etc. Stove, fridge and coffee maker (bring coffee and filters as only 1 in room).
The room was very clean. Free wireless internet (get code at front counter) and free parking. Right accross from beach too.
I was very impressed with Marie at the front counter. Very nice and I bothered her twice and no complaint at all. I felt bad as they were silly questions and she had to come from the back room (you ring bell). She was very nice and helpful and made me feel comfortable and at home.
Sushi restaurant right at entrance. Didn't eat there so cannot comment but looked good.
If you want a simple place, for a reasonable price (for Harrison Hot Springs) and have it be clean and comfortable, then this is the place. Simple, inexpensive and clean...

Our family of 5 and a small dog stayed here for $150/night inc. taxes. We had a small kitchen with nice appliances and new cabinets. There were TWO sofa beds in the living room, and nice furniture (not 5 star, but it doesn't claim to be that).
The bathroom still had the robin egg blue fixtures, but was quite usable and clean. There were two separate bedrooms too. This is sooo nice as adults don't have to sleep with the children. Wink, wink.
There was no AC and no blow dryer in the bathroom, but we found we didn't need either of them. Despite a heat wave in BC at the time, the room stayed nice and cool.
The location is great; across the street from the fancy older hotel, beach directly across another street, restaurants on all sides, a one block walk to the public hot spring pool so we did not miss a pool at the motel.
The owners/workers kept the place very clean and were very friendly. They had a strong asian accent, but we were able to communicate well anyway.
Great place to stay, especially if you're not looking for the spa experience, pampering, or too many amenities.

This is an older, well-maintained motel across the street from the beach. Our room opened onto a semi-private balcony with a view of the lake. The room was quite large with a full kitchen and 2 beds (one in the bedroom and one in the living room). The room was extremely clean but there was a slight musty smell in the bedroom. At $89, this is a great value for a summer stay on the lake. Next door is a good sushi restaurant. All in all, a pleasant stay!
