“Better and Better”
Reviewed February 9, 2013

Once again we decided to spend a night in the Harrison Beach Hotel, this is the third time.
Normally we go go there for Valentine's Day, however, due to a conflicting occasion we decided to go a week early. It is hard to say anything negative about the Hotel and the staff. The junior suites are excellent. They come with a fully equipped kitchen, fireplace and, an eye-popping view of the lake. At this time of year it is quiet in Harrison Hot Springs, a wee bit cool but envigorating for a walk along the beach. We have booked another night in September while attending a wedding at another hotel.

Room Tip: The lake view rooms are absolutely lovely

We chose a very off-season time of year to visit--January--but had a great stay. I booked through the hotel itself since either TripAdvisor or one of its related sites alerted me to a second-night-half-price promotion for booking in person. As we were bringing our dog, it was good to talk in person to the front-desk person, who made sure we got the right kind of room. (Tip: when offered "Lake view or mountain view?", choose "lake." "Mountain" is also *parking lot* view!) We were delighted with our junior suite. We had plenty of space for two, and the kitchen amenity allowed us to spend more time relaxing at our place instead of searching for restaurants. (Many are closed in the winter.) The view was great, and the front lobby has good coffee always available, which made room-relaxing time easy. There is plenty of good lighting, although I would have appreciated better reading lights by the bed. (Perhaps my sweetheart and I are unusual in reading before bed instead of watching tv?) The bed was super-comfortable! One quibble would be the lack of rugs in the main room. I'm sure it's to make cleaning up after pets easy, but the floor was kind of cold, even when the room was warm enough. Still, we'd stay here again in a second. Everything is very convenient, including the public hot springs pool, which is a mighty half-block away. By all means, go soak and relax!

Room Tip: Choose "lake view"!

We enjoyed the Junior suite we stayed in here for a weekend in January. The view was lovely, the room spacious, yet cozy with its fireplace and privtae sleeping area. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: The rooms with a view of the lake are worth the extra cost.

We just came home from a visit to Harrison Hot Springs and stayed at this hotel after reading Trip advisor comments and we were not disappointed with our experience. From making the first call to reserve our room, where Tara Ryder, the General Manager was more then accommodating to our needs and the greeting by extremely friendly staff on our arrival, we felt like we were "home". We stayed in a junior suite on the forth floor and the view was spectacular. Everything was clean and comfortable. The fireplace was lovely too. Absolutely nothing needs attention. Very central location within the village. Thank you, we will definitely be back soon.

Room Tip: Lake side rooms go fast so if you want "breathtaking" views reserve early. There are room...

We spent two days, wanting some down time and that is exactly what we got. We had a junior suite. Kitchenette, king sized bed. What a nice room. Clean and comfortable. The best part was the balcony looking over the lake. Beautiful. Especially at night.
The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Would definitley stay again.

Great room, we had a jr. suite on the 4th floor that overlooked the lake. The view was great, and it was very roomy. There was a pull out hid-a-bed, it was a little gross when we pulled the cushions off and found a fork. Evidently the pull out bed wasn't cleaned, for us, no bid deal since we weren't using the hid-a-bed but still gross...

We asked the staff for recommendations on resturants. First... I'll start with my husband and I got in late therefore didn't decide to eat dinner till 9-ish. The gentleman at the front desk made a few recommendations: (1) German resturant next door, (2) Pizza, (3) Copper Room

So the German resturant closed at 9 (which he didn't tell us about) and we didn't really feel like pizza so Copper Room it was! Unfortunately, we weren't really warned about this either. The Copper Room is a VERY fancy resturant. We were in jeans and tennis shoes (it was dumping snow outside). At that point, my husband and I just settled that we'd be "those" people at a fine dining establishment but THEN... they mentioned it was $60/person for their seasonal buffet. We totally enjoy a fantastic meal however... $60/person was VERY spendy for us. Ultimately we ended up at a local pub which had fantastic food!

There was a different person at the front desk for breakfast so we thought we'd ask for recommendations again... She recommended the Hungry Chef, they were ALSO closed at 9:30am for breakfast.

Overall, good room but the service was lacking. We were pretty disappointed with the recommendations they made.
