“Great Relaxing Stay”
Reviewed October 11, 2012

My boyfriend and I came out to Harrison Hot Springs in July 2012 as our quick getaway from our busy work schedules. With it being only about 2 hours from Vancouver downtown itself (if you catch a good flow of traffic on the Hwy 1) - it was far enough away from the hustle and bustle but close enough that we didn't have to travel for several hours! The staff are overall very friendly and the restaurant attached to the hotel is quite good. We forgot to make reservations for the dining room but was able to get a table within 10-15 minutes which was quite impressive considering it was during a long weekend on a Saturday. The rooms are clean, they are a bit dated, but otherwise the stay was very comfortable. The different pools make this hotel a very family friendly hotel, but with the adults only pool, they also provided the somewhat peace and quiet that any relaxing holiday should include. The beach is only across the street and the restaurants in town aren't horrible.

One thing I did notice that was actually a pleasant surprise is that room service was incredibly reasonable! Usually at a resort like this, you would expect to pay quite a premium but we had a fantastic breakfast and it was priced exactly like the other restaurants in the town (might I say it was probably even better!) The pool bar/ restaurant was also good and convenient for spending the entire day by the pool!

Was a great stay and wouldn't hesitate to come back the next time we need a quick getaway again! (

We come here a couple of times a year(when possible) to reset & relax. Though it has become much busier with families & kids it still provides the relaxing adult pool for your pleasure. We enjoy the older original part of the hotel and this stay we were given a room in the east wing which turned out to be very nice, quiet and had both a garden and lake view. The staff as always was genuine and comfortably friendly. During this visit we chose to dine in the village and that turned out fine, a great sushi place & a nice swiss schnitzel house for both our dinner dates.

We have stayed here several times and each time created wonderful memories.
Our rooms of choice would be the Lake View in the East Tower, though they are more expensive. We tried a Mountain/Lake view room once but it did not seem to be as spacious.
The summer family packages are a good deal. The breakfast buffet is one of our favourites, however I was sad this time to see that the poached egg with spinach was not available.
We enjoyed a meal in the Copper Room for our Anniversary and our waiter kindly gave us two beautiful roses from the hotel's garden which was very thoughtful.
The 4pm complimentary tea and cookies is a nice added bonus.
While each stay has had some minor glitch, whether it be bill related, cleanliness or other, these minor issues have not affected our desire to return.
The pools are enjoyed by our whole family and we come away looking forward to our next stay.

We stayed in the West Wing with garden view in August as part of their Romantic Getaway Package. Our room overlooked the garden, tennis courts and lake. We also had a balcony that had a table and chairs on it. The room decor was really nice and the bed was firm but comfortable. The pillows were the nicest softest pillows ever. We're still trying to find some like that to buy.

The staff were all very nice and accommodating. The breakfast buffet is great! Our meal in the Copper Room was very good and the live band was a nice touch. You can dance afterwards if you want.

We had a spa treatment which was amazing and they gave us champagne and strawberries decorated with little chocolate tuxedos. Just Wonderful.

The only thing that was too bad, like all resorts these days, people go to the pool area early to drape a towel on the chairs then never sit in them. There were more saved chairs than people in the pool or walking around. Resorts should devise a system to reserve and forfeit chairs.

Like swipe your room key at a kiosk where they give you a towel and a chair number(s) for your party. When you leave you swipe your room key and the chair numbers go back into the computer so people who are actually there can use them.

All we saw were people walking around looking for a chair, but very few people were actually sitting in them. All resorts we've been to are the same and it's very annoying.

Anyways even with that said we very much like Harrison Resort and will be going back.

Room Tip: If AC is important make sure you ask for it. The oldest section of the building doesn't have AC...

Spent one night here and it was pretty good. Staff was very nice and helpful. The room was large and clean. The beds are a little hard, but still got a good nights sleep. Great internet service. Did not use the pools (5) but a lot of their guests were. Great location right on the beach. Had dinner at a little Pizza and Italian place about a 10 minute walk from the hotel and had great service and a very good pizza for less than 20 bucks. The hotel's breakfast was probably one of the best that I have ever had. They were even making custom omelets for their guests. Could have spent a couple of days here.

Each September, as soon as school goes back in, we head to Harrison for a 2 day mid-week getaway. A short 1 1/2 hour drive from Vancouver, it's a wonderful resort to relax in the hot spring pools, especially the 'adult' pool where no-one under 18 is permitted. You sit outside and soak your aches away. The staff are wonderful, and the ambiance and history of the hotel are worth experiencing. We enjoy the original 'main' building...some say the rooms are too small, but for 2 adults the rooms are fine and we don't spend much time in the room. The buffet breakfast while pricey at $17 pp, is well worth it. Great selection and all items are fresh and replaced before they run out. And they provide a complimentary 'tea' at 4 pm each afternoon! There's a 9 hole golf course just down the road...reasonable rates and in good shape for the dry hot summer we've experienced. Sign up with the resort for their email specials.

Room Tip: Depends if you like history, or if you want a totally modern room that is a little larger. We'v...

When we checked in, someone was already in our room. We almost walked in on their "private moment" The paint on the door (outside) is pealing off. Poor visual representation. The hall walls were in bad shape. They are scraped up from one end ot the other. Could not connect to wifi all night nor in the am due to too many users.

On a positive note, the rooms inside were nice and well kept, staff is extremely friendly and knowledgable of the hotel and services. Pools were clean, weight room looked after and they have free tea and treats every day at around 3:30 PM.

The view was great, Hotel is in a relaxing forested/mountain area. True representation of British Columbia.

Cost per night is high. We won't be returning as a result; for what you get in service. (No continental breakfast) Checkin is very late (4:00) PM. This is unacceptable. Check in times used to be in at 12:00 out at 11:00 (years ago). I noticed most hotels now are chin in at 2:00 and out at 11:00.
