I have 3 children and we visited this attraction often. Great place to spend an hour or a day. We used to take a picnic in the nice weather. The train ride is a highlight. It goes through trees, along fields and even on a small trestle over the water along the edge of the road. They have extra fun at certain times, such as the Christmas train, Easter egg hunt, etc. Many families here get season's passes so they can satisfy their children's request to keep going back often.

We first came her when our children were small, they of course enjoyed the Train Ride and many of the other interesting things for them to do. The local schools also came for days out and I as
a mother helped on those days. Later in life we have been on Fathers Day with our son and his
wife. Rode the train again and saw the exhibits and walked the trails. It is a wonderful place with so much information of the Old Logging Industry Days, wonderful machinery. At Christmas the train is decorated giving rides for all the family. Other special days are Maple Syrup Tasting, All Hallows Eve with ghosts and treats, Easter with the Easter Bunny and treats. So its a great place for all ages to spend time together.

We attended the annual Big Leaf Maple Syrup Festival at the Discovery Center this weekend. What a great place! Beautiful displays (old log trucks, steam engines, etc.)! A lot of good "logging history". We'll certainly go back! Would be a great place to take the grandchildren. By the way, the Maple Syrup Festival was a terrific event!!!

A well organized and fun look at the forest industry of the Cowichan Valley. Always a good time riding the steam train and visiting the restored buildings.

We just happened to see this museum driving by, and came back the next day. Unfortunately we got there late so didn't have a lot of time to explore and see everything. What we did see was excellent, and we'd come back again for sure if we were in the area again. Lots of good history.
