“Wonderful!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 13, 2012

What a beautiful and restful retreat! Unfortunately could only spend one night as I was down on buysiness--the room and ensuite was lovely (OMG--the clawfoot soaker tub)--Cassandra was a very gracious & accommodating hostess--and the breakfast (a recipe of her own creation) was exquisite and I'm quite a 'foodie.' This is truly a hidden gem in Duncan!

Room Tip: The large blue room on the front of the house upstairs was wonderful and bright!

We truly felt like Homesdale House B&B was our home while we spent time in the Duncan area. Our room was spacious, comfortable king size bed, great pillows and large en suite bathroom. The common area between the bedrooms is also well equipped, everything is neat and very clean. Breakfast were far better than at home......fresh local fruit, local produce and different every morning. Casandra is a wealth of information whether it be restuarants, what to see, and how to get there. A most enjoyable stay, I highly recommend the hospitality, the food and the accomodation.

I had a longer stay this trip and the owners made things very comfortable for my entire time. The breakfasts were amazing and featured the seasonal variety available on the Island. The recommondations for things to do and with the very hot weather, a beautiful beach to swin in. The room was kept cool which made sleeping great. Thanks again and I will be back for sure when the Island calls me.

Room Tip: Both rooms available are private with seperate bathrooms, each very quiet - can't go wrong

When we arrived we were received by the host, a nice gentleman, so kind that he seemed coming from times gone by. He introduced Essex, his loved dog, to us and showed our room with private bathroom. The bedroom was cosy, the bathroom very large and clean. The dining room was also cosy and clean. The house was old with a strong British character; every detail was well maintained, with love. The three course breakfast was tasty and kindly served by the host.
Several books and DVDs were also available for guests entertainement.
If we hadn't had a planned schedule, we'd have enjoyed this wonderful place in Duncan and the kindness of its host some day more.
Definitely one of the best B&B ever! We'd recommend it to everyone, couple, family and friends!

I booked this place when I couldn't find accomodations on SaltSpring Island, and Duncan is near the ferry to the island. While Duncan itself is not so much of a destination in my opinion, it is very centrally located to this part of Vancouver Island, and would make it a good spot if you are making day trips both north, south, and doing some Island hoping. Our room was very pretty with a big, very clean bathroom w/ clawfoot tub. We slept very well on the comfortable bed, and enjoyed coffee in the evening that had been left on the sideboard to fix for ourselves. Breakfast was very good both mornings. Strawberry waffles and local sausage one day and a Mexican polenta/egg/ cheesy dish with salsa and assorted vegetables and fruit on the side. Both times there was self serve yogurt, granola, and fresh fruit. Also, the best coffee I've had in a long time. Our hostess was very knowledgeable about the area and shared some good ideas with us, but was not intrusive or overly chatty. I would stay again if I found myself in the area.

Room Tip: We were in room #1, and it was very comfortable with a pretty, large bathroom.

My wife and I were in town for a friend's wedding, and this B&B was the closest place we found to the location of the wedding. Have nothing but good things to say - friendly hosts who did everything they could to make our stay as enjoyable as possible, delicious unique breakfasts with great options for allergies, and clean comfortable lodging. Would definitely return and would recommend to anyone spending time in Duncan!

We were thrilled with the fascinating history of the place and the old fashioned hospitality we received. My husband who can never sleep anywhere outside of home, had a very restful sleep. The breakfasts are three course meals and being a celiac it was catered to me and wonderful to have such great food.

Room Tip: The King room is worth the extra bit of money as it is so spacious and great for if you have kids or...
