Owner description: The Klondike National Historic Sites of Canada commemorate the 1896 Klondike Gold Rush, the role of large corporation gold mining in the Klondike and river transportation in the Yukon. Dawson City, conveniently located at the junction of the Yukon and Klondike Rivers, quickly became the heart of the gold fields during this time.

We took the historic tour at 9:30 in the morning. It was very good, very informative. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and seeing inside the old buildings was interesting.

Loved the informative tour and Parks Ca guide from Quebec! Although a national historic site, Parks Canada is going to stop the Dredge # Four tours! Please write! This was a wondeful stop. When you are finished be sure to pan for gold in the creek further down the road. Rent at Claim # 33. The rental prices for the shovel and pan were unbelievely cheap; two dollars each! We paid10 times more in Alaska! You pan at Claim # 6-there are portable toilets.

I'm so upset with the cuts of Parks Canada. Dawson City has so many great historic sites and it's a shame that they will fall into disrepair over the next few years.

Dredge #4 is an awesome tour - summer 2012 is the last season of guided tours inside, so do it if you can. Lots of really neat history in the area.

I highly recommend the walking tour - you get to go inside the old bank, saloon and post office. These buildings are normally closed to the public.

Stop in at the Visitor's Centre to pick up brochures, buy tickets and get information on everything to do in the area.

Come see this amazing machine that was used to gather countless millions of dollars of gold. Left where she stopped Parks Canada is now refurbishing this amazing ship.

I liked the knowledgeable staff and quality of the historic walk through the town. The Parks staff does a great job.
