We took our 4 teenage kids for a family day here and had a great time. We enjoyed playing volleyball on the sand court while we waited. Had a filling lunch of chili- even veggie chili, salad, bun and dessert. Buildings old but you weren't really in them at all. A rustic atmosphere. We got suited up in wetsuits, some were torn and worn. Very helpful, knowledgeable staff. A short bus ride to river, well explained "rules of rafting", and off we went with a guide in the raft with us. Some slow parts of the river and some exciting parts, Kids were able at one part to get out and float a bit. Hike to falls was good, went under the falls, got soaking wet but a hot day so dried quickly. Felt very safe, had a fun time. Really recommend to bring your own closed toed shoes or water shoes. Kids wished it was more challenging but a great safe family day for starters.

We've been rafting and kaying with Chilliwack Rafting for a few years and try to go at least once a year. We have also rafted at the Nahatlach, Thompson and Squamish rivers but once we discovered whitewater kayaking at Chilliwack, we only go rafting if kayaking is closed. If you are in reasonable shape and enjoy the outdoors I would highly recommend you try whitewater kayaking. My kids are all young adults now and we all love it. Rafting if fun with larger groups and for those a little more nervous around water, but if you like adventure and your a moderate adrenaline junkie, don't miss trying this!

I do not recommend this rafting company and here is why:
1. Facilities are dumpy and old. There was a large garbage dumpster located at the entrance with an old rusty appliance and broken furniture laying next to it. The buildings appear as if put together with whatever the owners could find. The company advertises "hot showers." There is one in each bathroom (men's/women's). Not so great with a bus load of rafters vying to clean up.
2. Equipment is old and worn out. Wetsuits smelled disgusting. It took two showers to get the mildew stink off my skin. Wetsuits all had rips and slipshod repairs. Wetsuit booties were one size and ill fitting, shoes provided to go over booties were old discarded tennis shoes piled in back of a shed. Our raft kept loosing air and needed multiple pumps of air as we went down the river.
3. Hot lunch consisted a variety of cheap home made food items and cheap store bought vanilla cookies. We had curry elbow macaroni pasta, chili, and half a cob of corn. The chili was so thick it retained the shape of the ladle. It didn't go well with curry!
4. The owner/manager and one of the raft guides were very rude and condescending to individuals in the group where English was a second language. One mom asked for assistance twice with life jackets for her sons and was blown off the first time with a rude remark from the raft guide and then the second time, told in a nasty tone that the life jackets didn't fit because she didn't know how much her son's weighed. It took some longer than others to put on equipment. The owner/manager yelled that these families were "incompetent" and keeping others waiting. He then proceeded to spray people in the face, with water from a hose, without warning.
5. The bus ride to the start of the trip was brutal. The bus had little to no shocks as it careened down a very bumpy road.
6. Upon arrival at the start point, after being in wetsuits for close to an hour, the group had to listen to a 20 minute talk on safety in the blazing sun at the side of a busy road. Finally, we proceeded to the rafts but then had to sit through another 20 minutes of paddling instruction. By this time, my entire group was ver overheated.
7. We took the "classic" trip which is advertised for families. Our family consisted of myself and spouse, my 66 year old mother, 26 year old son and wife and 11 year old son. Two other rafts also had elementary school aged children and older adults. I would not recommend this for children under 12 or for individuals who are not in decent physical shape. As soon as we pulled away from shore, we immediately hit class two and three rapids. Instead of easing rafters into the experience, we were thrown into white water. This was fine for those in our party with rafting experience but not for the younger and older members of our family. My mother had to be let out and picked up by the bus. Shortly after starting the trip, we pulled over to a bank and were told we would be hiking to a waterfall for pictures. We trudged, in full equipment, (wetsuits, helmets, life jackets, and inappropriate footwear), about half a mile each way, through tall weeds and bushes, and up a steep hill to a small waterfall. No one was dressed appropriately for such a hike which was not advertised as part of the trip. We had to put our youngest in the middle so he could hold on and not get thrown overboard. One boat in our group tipped completely over and several members were badly hurt. One of these was a young boy about 12 who was pushed under his raft and thrown against rocks before being rescued.
8. The water level was very low. We were constantly getting stuck on rocks. Several times we were pinned in and taking on water. This was an extremely dangerous situation that we were not warned about ahead of time.
There is a reason this rafting company is one of the cheaper outfits in the area.

First of all, we didn't know what to expect...would it be too boring and a waste of money? NO!! It was great: started with a lunch (if you are doing the afternoon trip) and a getting to know each other session, then we changed into wet suits, jackets, helmets, shoes...all provided for us (you only need a bathing suit for under) then some instruction from the crew. Get on a bus and drive up the river to the starting point. The guides are SO knowledgeable and do a great job of making sure that everyone is comfortable. If not, you can get out at any point. The actual rafting time was about 2.5-3 hours long. The rapids are class 2/3 with some 4's (and this was the Classic Experience.) Also, we went with 2 kids, 11 & 13, and it was perfect for them (scary but exciting!) The river was high on our trip and we ran into some challenges, but the guides made sure that we were all safe. Safe to say that we did not waste a penny and felt that the trip was well worth it! SO glad we did this. Of all the sightseeing we've done in and around Vancouver, this was our favourite!!
