“Superb and wholesome theatre”

We visit Chemainus Theatre a couple of times a year. One of our favorite overnight outings. the dunner-theatre is to be recommended, and the productions never seem to disappoint. we've stayed at both the nearby Best Western and local B&B. depends on taste, but both are great.

“wonderful”

We had a great meal at the dinner theatre & we attended the performance following that. We saw Fiddler on The Roof & I must say it was excellent. We both thoroughly enjoyed the performance.

“A great package deal”
Reviewed September 18, 2011

We saw an ad for the play 'Amadeus,' plus hotel, breakfast and lunch or dinner at the theatre, in a program for another play in Vancouver. The package worked well for us, the buffet lunch was extensive, the servers friendly. The play (later made into the Oscar-winning movie) was intense and complex, the lead performances very good.

What's most impressive is that this 244-seat theatre has been thriving in small-town Vancouver Island for 19 years, drawing crowds of people, quality actors and a fine array of productions, a number of which move on to other, larger places.

“A charming community theatre.”
Reviewed August 4, 2011

The quality of productions at the Chemainus theatre is a step up from that usually experienced at community theatres! The theatre building is attractive and the facilities good. There is a gift shop in the lobby with some very nice items for sale. There is also a pretty good lunch buffet available. However, one of the challenges in Chemainus can be parking at times.

“Worth a visit”
Reviewed November 9, 2010

My husband and I visited Chemainus to see a production of "Wingfield's Progress" at the Chemainus Theater Festival. The theater seems to be fairly new and is small, but lovely. It seemed like all seats had good sightlines and good acoustics. Apparently, they do a dinner-theater package at the theater, but we only bought theater tickets and ate elsewhere in town. If you go to the theater, allow yourselves some extra time to walk through the town to enjoy the shops and the murals painted on the sides of the buildings (follow the footprints painted on the sidewalk to see all the murals). All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed the day we spent there.
