“The best Fish and Chips”
Reviewed May 1, 2014

Odika's fish and chips is gluten free! But that does not detract from the flavour one little bit. As with all of their dishes the flavour is superb, the crust is Pakora and the cod fantastic, so fresh and delicious. One piece was more than enough. And coupled with their tartar sauce, esily the best I have ever tasted, and the yummy hand cut cole slaw, this made fro a wonderful birthday lunch.

While I have your attention I really do not understand the Trip Advisor ratings. I notice that Odika is rated number 3, but the thing is that the numbers 1 and 2 slots are entirely different experiences. Number 1 is a busy and very popular cafeteria whose scones are scrumptious and the rest of the menu is fine as well. The number 2 spot is a german style bakery that also serves soup and sandwiches. Odika is a fine dining experience and the only one of its kind in town. Comparing apples and oranges if you ask me and I frequent all three for their individual specialties.

“A culinary find”
Reviewed April 25, 2014 via mobile

Odika Cafe is an amazing surprise! This "cafe" provided our table with what may have been the best meal we've ever had any where and we're "foodies". Every dish, no matter how simple was extremely well done. The restaurant is comfortable simple and homey but the menu is creative, complex and exciting. What the chef does with herbs and spices is truly amazing. Plating is outstanding and the service warm efficient and friendly. The cream of asparagus soup was an experience. The rhubarb crisp with black pepper ice cream to die for. Obviously a chef with not only a pallet but a passion for creating food. Don't miss it.

“Excellent food that far exceeds your view of a 'cafe'”
Reviewed March 28, 2014

This restaurant is behind the Chemainus theatre and was therefore recommended by the hostess at our BnB (Cottage and Castle). Although the decor is cafe style the food is most certainly not. Closer to fine dining. Although a bit pricey, it is worth it. The people are friendly, the service great and the food excellent. If it is a theatre night, make a reservation as the tables were all full the night we were there. Also park in the theatre lot behind the Odika so you can just walk to and from the restaurant to the theatre without moving your car.

“Great food in Chemainus, BC”
Reviewed March 12, 2014

Odika offers a wonderful and outstanding dining experience while in Chemainus viewing the Historic Murals. The food reflects the esthetic of the owners a Canadian chef and his charming wife from Gabon. The food is contemporary enhanced by the spice of Africa and the reflection of Nouvelle cuisine in North America. An excellent dining experience.
