Ate here a couple of times while in town on business. Both times the service was fantastic, great selection of beers but the food was just ok. Portions were quite small for the amount you pay. They need to improve or they won't last.

wow, this was an excellent lunch, the service excellent, the food superb. I had french onion soup and a reuben sandwich(to die for both) spit this with the wife. Our friends had burgers, yes huge burgers. We all admired the fancy woodwork recently done by the Timber Kings(you guys rock).
I am glad to live in the puddle and enjoy our friends and surroundings.

I called and spoke to a very friendly young man. They were unable to do baked chicken that night (out of chicken breasts) but the gentlemen assured me that the Parmesan Chicken was delicious. So I took his word and ordered that as well as the Wild Canadian Maple Glazed Coho Salmon for a sick friend.

It was quick to pick up, though the service once I got there wasn't nearly as friendly as the guy on the phone. The salmon made my friends day and he reported later that it was divine.

I took my meal home to find layers of surprise. They leave the skins on in the mashed potatoes which makes for a pleasant change in texture. Their House Marinara is truly incredible. However, the Parmesan Chicken looked like a shriveled up lump of something old, and that's exactly how it tasted. I suspect it was stored in an unsealed container in the freezer, possibly freezer burnt and then over cooked. I scraped the spinach, sauce and cheese onto the potatoes and threw the chicken in the garbage. The salvaged meal was delicious but not worth $16 + tax, tips and a drive in the middle of winter.

With the quality of everything else, I'm surprised that the chicken was allowed to leave the kitchen. If one of their signature meals looks and tastes like that, they would be wise to take if off the menu all together. Though aside from the chicken product everything was actually very good and for that reason, I'll check them out again in the spring.....everyone has bad days.

The Laughing Loon Pub is located next door to the Best Western Williams Lake which makes for a great combination. The decor of the pub is very nice with large timbers used for the bar and some tables. Timbers were done by the Timber Kings of Pioneer Log Homes. The staff is great. The owner bar keep remembers your name from the first time you visit. The menu is worthy of a five star restaurant. The chef creates dishes way beyond her young years. The beef for these dishes is supplied by the other part owner. A great place to unwind after a long day.

Friendly wait staff and great interior. Nice view of the lake with some seats. Beer is cold and bar food is fine. A good option in Williams Lake.
