Sea to Sky highway runs from Vancouver to Whistler, about 125 km each way and takes about 1 1/2 hours each way. The first half is a gorgeous winding road right along the coast line from Vancouver to the town of Squamish. Good place to grab a coffee on route.

I drove this road two times daily from Vancouver to whistler. A great drive for the driving enthusiast. Large caution on the highway tho, people still lose their lives to idiocy and carelessness on this road, one yesterday as I write this. That's 2 fatal accidents in 1 week. As jimmy Morrison wrote, " keep your eyes on the road and your hands upon the wheel"
Enjoy the drive however fast you want to drive it. If fast is what you like, be assured, the RCMP are on the look out and chances are you'll get a blue piece of bum wipe that says you owe $300.00
If you're out for a family drive, watch out for everyone else, and yes there are some turns that can catch you going faster than the posted limit and make that van you're driving roll. If you're on a motorbike, well, watch out on the passing, there are families, work trucks, buses, logging trucks, stoned people, drunks, tired outdoor enthusiasts coming home from a day of playing, and donkeys with carts on this road, and scariest of all......other bikers that like to race. Sweet road dreams

The drive itself is scenic, but the road is dangerous because of other drivers. There is a stretch of road by Lions Bay that is one lane both ways and no dividers. Every year, there are accidents on that stretch due to drivers speeding and losing control. Two women were killed this past weekend because of a head-on collision.

Pay attention to the weather and your speed!!! The government hasn't put up dividers, that means it's up to drivers to be extra cautious.

The views of the Stawamus Chief above Squamish and of the Tantalus range further up are spectacular. The weather can be changeable and fierce up there though, so check the forecast!

If you are looking to experience all the beauty that the West Coast of Canada has to offer - this is a must! The views are utterly breath taking. Cannot be beaten. This drive takes you along both mountain and ocean views on your way to Squamish and the world famous Whistler Village. It takes about 2 hours one way, so plan to either spend the day, or even better, a night in Whistler. If you are a nervous driver, there are several buses/tours available. The road is well maintained, with many pull outs and rests along the way. If you appreciate nature and spectacular views - you won't find anything better than this!
