“Good Food & Service”
Reviewed February 9, 2013

We enjoyed the Ahi-Tuna Mini Tacos for our starter - very fresh, unique, crispy, and flavourful. We ordered the Prime Rib special and it was cooked to perfection - tender and juicy. The vegetables were fresh and creatively presented on top of a beet puree(delicious). The waitress/server (Keri) spell? was very informative and took great care of us. Our drinks were replenished and food was served in a timely efficient manner. Good wine selection. I would go back. I am a local, however it is great to see they are serving top notch food to visitors/tourists in Red Deer at the Holiday Inn : )

“Excellent”
Reviewed January 12, 2013

Excellent food, we enjoyed the coconut shrimp for a starter. Then for our mains we had the glazed salmon and the Kobe chicken, both dishes were excellent and prepared very well. Plus the sides served with each of these dishes were excellent. Our waitress was very knowable and efficient. Only one small suggestion, she should not take my plate away until my partner was done his meal, also don't bring the dessert menu when my partner was not done his meal. We will definitely be back, the food was excellent. Thank you for finally bringing good food to Red Deer.

“Mostly a hit with a few misses”
Reviewed December 15, 2012 via mobile

Appetizers (Crab Cakes, Spring Rolls, Coconut Shrimp) were very good. Mains of Tilapia, Bacon Mac & Cheese and Salmon were all hits as was the Chocolate Mousse Pie for dessert. Misses: Coconut Lime Pie (not enough Coconut to include it in the name and lacking any sort of sweetness in its runny consistency), Grand Marnier Creme Brullee (poorly executed burnt sugar and no Grand Marnier Flavour). Sampled a small portion of Bourbon Ice Cream. That was a hit. Big miss: flavorless, weak coffee - which we sent back. (None of servers we asked even like the coffee but they didn't tell us that before we ordered. So, if no one on staff likes it, then replace it)

One things that bugs me is servers who insist on clearing dishes before all diners are finished eating. Leave the plates until everyone is done. Then no one feels rushed to hurry.

There is little ambience in this restaurant althought the food overall is pretty good - which says a lot for a hotel restaurant (Holiday Inn). Would go back again but slap any hands that reach for a plate before everyone is done. Will skip the coffee next time which is dreadful. Funny that there is so much money spent on quality ingredients for food but cheaper out on coffee - the last thing I sampled before I wrote this review.

“A+ experience”
Reviewed December 1, 2012 via mobile

We had been to this restaurant once before and it was okay but this Friday it was a fantastic experience!
Our waitress was great, very attentive and friendly. Our waitress was able to recommend a fabulous bottle of wine. The food we had was excellent, very tasty and good value. We also had dessert which is made in house, which you don't find very often - to die for chocolate mousse.
My only comment would be that if they are trying to make it a classy, nice place possibly implement as dress code as there was a man wearing pajama pants sitting at the bar adjacent to our seat.
Overall excellent place if you're looking for a nice night out.

“Exceptional food prepared with attention”
Reviewed November 12, 2012

We attended on a Sunday evening. Restaurant wasn't too busy. We were seated in a quiet area of the restaurant as requested. Service was friendly, personal and prompt. The decor/atmosphere could use a little "flair". Atmosphere sort of cold and "basic" but not surprising for hotel "ambiance".

The food, however, was outstanding. Flavorful, amazing detail and food presentation. Portions were just right. We ordered a basic appetizer, and also "cheese and beer" soup, wow, an asian salad. Then entrees. . salmon and steak, respectively were prepared with great attention. Delicious experience through and through. Quite possibly the best we have eaten in Red Deer. We will be back.
