The room was incredibly small and when we went to shower in the morning the hot water tap was broken

Room was nothing like the photo when booked. Door had no deadbolt, bathroom smelled of urine. No refrigerator or microwave. Garbage was laying around the outside of the room. Windows had no security element.

From the front of the building, it appears to be pleasant. But the interior is very dated, especially the rooms. Carpets are really stained throughout, with some cigarette burns. One reviewer said they have renovated rooms?? Where our they? Our team rented approximately 11 rooms and all the rooms I went into looked the same. The chair in our room looked like a cat was using it as its scratching post, and from reading the other reviews that said they allow animals it probably was used as that. The yellow foam was showing through the upholstery, the upholstery on the chair was ripped.
The A/C in majority of the team rooms was broken, they are set on a fan speed of high that has to be plugged in and un-plugged to be used. The buttons and dials don't work on the machine. BUT aside from the musky odour in some of the rooms, the hair and dirt in the washrooms was ridiculous. We got in late in the evening to freshen up and check on the kids in the other rooms and couldn't even do that because the phones in half the rooms were not working!!!!!!! Light bulbs burnt out. We couldn't even call to complain about the hair because the phone didn't work. We rinsed out the hair ourselves so the boys could shower, which took for ever because there was hair from floor to ceiling.
Let them know about the issues, came back to the room later that day and the HAIR WAS BACK! How is that possible when all the hair was gone when we left. In my opinion the cleaning lady uses the same cloths in all the rooms and does not rinse or clean that cloth in between each cleaning bringing hair from one room to the next GROSS!! Our team will never stay at this hotel again.
Basic continental breakfast that had (bagels, eggo waffles, cereal, yogurt, bananas, apples, quaker oatmeal in the package, one type of tea green tea, and egg mcmuffin eggs).
Also if you are a light sleeper the walls are paper thin, you can hear what the people in the other room are saying and hear what they are watching on there tv.
The asian lady who works the front desk, also appears to help clean rooms, and clean and setup the breakfast area, was nice as long as you don't complain.
Avoid!

Room Tip: No tip to help choose a good room, just avoid the hotel.

The website's professional pictures are totally misleading versus the reality of the accommodations. We were guests for 5 nights. The bedspreads were so old, quilting threads were unraveled The carpeting was very old and appeared filthy. I kept hard soled shoes on at all times (never slippers). The TV was ancient. The bathroom so narrow, the door opened on to the edge of the sink counter. To use the bathroom, you squeeze in past the WC, turn around, then close the door. There is no shelving in the bathroom, the towels are stacked directly to one side of the sink, on the counter, leaving no room for personal items, the counter max 3 ft. long. The outside areas were not swept, rubber on walkways badly stained. On 2 occasions a housekeeper was using an older upright vacuum in the lobby and hall areas adjacent to the open breakfast area. The vacuum was extremely noisy, annoying and unhygienic. A mop sat in a large bucket of dirty water, in one corner of the lobby all day (put it out of sight!!) Staff were very pleasant and daily housekeeping was acceptable. Beds were comfortable but the dated room & old carpeting made the room feel uncomfortable.

Room Tip: Ensure you are getting the room layout they show in their website pictures!! (if it even exists) It...

The room smelled funny and the a/c unit sounded like it was going to explode when turned on. The rooms need an upgrade or to be demolished. Way too pricey for such terrible accommodations.

Needed a room in Red Deer that would take pets. Had stayed in other places in Red Deer before but wanted to try a new place. Read some reviews on this place and said to my wife, do we want to really stay here? We decided in spite of the numerous negative remarks, we would try it anyway, and lo and behold, we were pleasantly surprised. From staff to cleanliness to continental breakfast to pool, all was good. We did have one of the rooms that wasn't upgraded yet, but it was just fine. Some people seemed to complain about the small bathrooms. We found it simple to use, close the door behind you, and you have room. Don't need a whole lot of space in a room you barely spend any time in over the course of a 24 hr. day. Let me say the staff were friendly, and accommodating, the continental breakfast food was good, the pool and whirlpool were good, even though there was a bit of paint rubbed off here and there in the pool, but I see that in many places, but the waters were clean, the wi-fi worked well, and the place was clean over-all. I told the front desk gal on checking out that we would be back 5-6 times to Red Deer to watch our horses race in near by Lacombe, and we would definately be staying with them again. Their prices are reasonable, and I definately feel you get value for the dollar here. Oh forgot to mention the beds were comfortable to sleep in. And as for noise, yes, there was some, but you get that anywhere, when you have people coming in late after a night of drinking, or whatever. Or kids that will be kids. After 11pm, any noise is usually caused by those that live in their own worlds only, and don't think of anyone else

Room Tip: If you can, ask for one of the renovated rooms, although the old rooms are just fine
