I was staying at this hotel for roughly a week for work and was not impressed. I've stayed here before because it was in the vacinity and convenient. I only required house keeping for one of the days and the bathroom supplies were not replaced. The room keys I had needed to be reset on three different occasions, a problem I have not had at any other holiday inn. After trying to track down stuff I may have left behind, I did not get a response back for a couple days after calling and a 5 days after I checked out. The towels that were in the room had long black hairs from previous guests. For paying extra for an "executive" room, I was not impressed. I normally don't have problems with Holidays Inns but I will be looking to book another hotel next time I stay in Red Deer

Thank you Modare for your honest response. We truly value you as a guest staying here and we would like to make sure that all your issues are address right away.

We have checked with housekeeping and made sure that every time a room is cleaned the supplies are replaced. It is part of our IHG standards that guests are getting a new supply of soaps and shampoos whenever a room is cleaned. If additional supplies are needed it is also just a phone call away for our housekeeping to bring it straight to your room. We also do provide all our guest with additional toiletries in the event they forget to bring a toothbrush, razor, shaving cream..etc that is absolutely free of charge.

In regards to the keys, sometimes the key can lose its charge in various circumstances, such as a magnet close by that deactivates them, or constant friction or repetitive shaking. In this event front desk is more than willing to replace the key card and even give a spare so guests do not have to come back down to the lobby.

In reference to the missing items that you might have left behind, the procedure that is done when a guest calls is we contact housekeeping directly and inquire about the room # and the items that were lost. However in the event that housekeeping has finished for the day the message is taken and then forwarded to housekeeping to get back to the front desk the next morning. This would have been the likely cause for the delay.

We have spoken and checked with housekeeping that each of our rooms is cleaned by a room attendant and then they are inspected to ensure cleanliness. Any items found are forwarded to the Lost and found in housekeeping tagged with the date and the room they were found in. We do try every attempt to contact guests in the room to claim items.

We are disheartened that your stay was not favorable and we hope to make your next stay more memorable if given the chance.

I called before leaving Edmonton to make sure they had a room available.... Was told they had standard room which was fine... Price was a bit high but not a major issue, on arriving I was greeted in a friendly manner and quickly got my room key etc... On getting to the room... It was a nice king room... But smoking... The place really stank of smoke... Called down and asked why I had a smoking room... They said it was all they had... I asked why they had not bothered to mention that when I called to reserve or when I checked in... They had no answer for that. Luckily I managed to find a room at another Holiday Inn 10 minutes away... they were not happy I was not going to stay in a smoking room and I had to insist that they not charge me for the 10 minutes I had been checked in for... Stayed here many times before... First real issue... but it was a big one as far as I am concerned...

Beautiful foyer, brand new beds, friendly, professional staff. We are platinum members, travel in our business and stay in many Holiday Inns, mostly Express, so it was great to see they offered a complimentary breakfast. We'll definitely stay here again!

I was at this hotel overnight and the people were extremely. The front dest was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and the beds comfortable.

Thank you for your suggestions about having more coffee in the room. As per Holiday Inn standards each room has one pack of coffee and another of decafinated. However we always have plenty of extra packs of coffee at the front desk that are free for our guest! We also have toothbrushes, toothpaste, shaving razors, mending kits, and extra shampoo should you run out or forget to bring any of these. On top of that- we provide it to you for FREE as a service to you!

I started staying here because it was convient location for me, I continue to stay because the staff are fantastic. Havede had a few minor issues but the staff is always there to fix any problems.

This is still one of my favorite hotels in Red Deer. I travel here often for work and like this hotel for how quiet it is, the staff and the Solace Spa located right in the hotel.

The king sized room I normally take is almost always quiet and spacious. The bathroom is luxurious and looks rich in color and appointments. I love the smell of the shampoo and conditioner that is available for use.

The Solace Spa is amazing as is the exercise room - both located in the basement.

Some of the things that bug me about this hotel:

The room doors are so heavy and when they close, they SLAM. This reverberates throughout the adjoining room. And I've found that most hotel patrons don't really care about the people staying in those adjoining rooms so are not very careful with noise.

The breakfast space is awful. The room is cramped, tight, hot and does not allow for more than two people to sit at a table together - contrary to other Holiday Inn Expresses that I have stayed at.

There are no complementary bottles of water in the rooms as there are in other Holiday Inn Expresses I've stayed at.

The bar is filthy, smells of old stale smoke and seems very old. I think I would feel more comfortable there if I knew that the chairs, floor and table were all clean. The bar has a very small drink selection and often the sections are closed off.

I love the hotel, the beds, the rooms, the quiet, the hot water for the showers, and the free parking.
