“Room was nice, breakfast and eating area small”
Reviewed August 3, 2011

We stayed here one night in June 2011. The hotel room was a decent size and the beds comfortable enough. My children found the pool area very lacking and not deep to do any real swimming. The hot tub was nice enough.

The breakfast was lacking, the two toasters did not work properly, and the breakfast room was very small and not enough tables.

All in all it was ok

We enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn, rooms were nice, breakfast was fine. The only complaint I have is with the phone message that we barely received. As our cell phone would not work in the Red Deer area, our children tried to reach us through the hotel. Our daughter could not reach us at the hotel and so she left a phone message with the front desk to get upon checkout that morning.. She left her name and that we were to call her as she hadn't heard from us plus it was my birthday. When I checked out I didn't not receive that message. We only got the message when we handed in the keys later. The message was spotty, the gentleman didn't know who called but wished me a happy birthday!
I am extremely happy that this wasn't urgent as we would have never received the proper message. We didn't call a we didn't even know we were supposed to. In addition the evening before she left two messages on the voicemail which were never there either!
While the hotel itself is pleasant, I wouldn't recommend if you don't have a cell phone but have family at home that may try to reach you.

Thank you for your recent review. At the Holiday Inn 67th St. Red Deer, we strive to provide great guest service and appreciate your feedback in order to ensure this is a priority. I do apologize for the miscommunication during your stay and we will focus on more extensive training with our agents to utilitze the message system we have at our disposal. Alternatively, our guest rooms do have voicemail systems attached but the guest needs to retrieve the messages prior to checkout or they get erased.

Again, we thank you for the feedback and will continue to work with our agents to ensure this doesn't happen again.

We look forward to your next stay.

Absolutely wonderful hotel. Fantastic rooms, complimentary warm breakfast was great but most important, excellent staff and customer service. We stayed the night before at a competitors hotel and the experience was horrible so we checked out. Holiday Inn was a welcome change. Will definitely stay here again.

We took the Steam train ride out of Stettler that was over at 8:00 PM, so we drove the 45 minutes to Red Deer and stayed in the Holiday Inn 67 because it was a convenient location and was cheaper than staying in the over priced hotel in Stettler.
We were pleased upon checkin, the staff was friendly and courteous. The lobby was beautiful and the room was gorgeous. Spotless, large tv, fridge, safe and a spacious bathroom. The shower was perfect and we were able to regulate the room temperature exactly as we wanted it.
The best thing was that I fell asleep and didn't wake up until the alarm clock went off in the morning. Now, that's a first for a hotel for me.
Check-out was a bit busy, but not terrible, and it wasn't their fault as the people in line in front of us seemed to have a lot of questions about travelling in the area.
We had breakfast at the Smitty's, and based on our experience, would not recommend it. Service was terrible and during the whole time we were there for breakfast, saw our server a total of 3 times. Once to take our order (after we sat there for almost 15 minutes, once to bring us our meal (that took 45 minutes), and finally, we had to call him over to bring us our check. No coffee refills, no "how are things", nothing. The restaurant was maybe half full. It wasn't too busy and there were plenty of staff working. Just a bad server I guess.

So hotel great! Smitty's not so great.

This is a nice Holiday Inn, well mantained and friendly. Nothing fancy, just a decent family hotel.

but this one gets my business when I'm in Red Deer. Nothing like a nice hot shower at the end of a long day; but, it's great when there's pressure to blast away the road tar (so to speak). Very comfortable bed and pillows, too. The fitness center is adequate.

LOVE this hotel... Beautiful King Junior suite. Seperate bedroom with king bed and huge flat screen tv... huge storage area for clothes, and a safe and a bench with a mirror. Living area with a HUGE pull out couch and big flat screen tv, a bit counter with fridge and counters, a big table and chairs and a desk. The bathroom has a huge counter. The bathroom is all done in tiles. Its GORGEOUS. Everything is done in granit and dark woods. Quiet and amazing staff. Great pool on main level. Will DEFINITELY stay here again.
