The gardens are a place for quiet reflection, drawn apart from the hubbub of the city. It has a charm that changes with the seasons and so is good to go to often. If you want to experience some aspect of Japanese culture, check for special events that occur usually on week-ends, e.g. tea ceremonies, kite flying demos etc.

This is a great place to visit if you are interested in Japanese culture, but also if you are just looking for a peaceful environment for a part of your day. You can stay as little or as long as you prefer. An amazing little oasis in the middle of a busy city. Probably not that interesting or accommodating for very young children.

A soothing example of Japanese architecture and gardening. A treat for the senses. The staff are very informative. Especially enjoyed the dry rock garden.

Welcome to Lethbridge.
This is as good as it gets!
If you have simple tastes & are easily amused then this is superb. If on the other hand you are cultured, sophisticated at any level, cosmopolitan in taste & looking for something stimulating then you are in the wrong city.

One of a kind in the world. The Japanese in Japan designed & built the building in Japan, then disassembled it, & shipped it to Lethbridge, Alberta. Carpenters flew to Lethbridge from Japan, & spent 22 months assembling building, along with landscapers who laid out the grounds in typical Japanese Garden Style. Thousands of persons visit this tranquil site each spring, summer, & autumn, and rave about it's beauty. I have visited Japanese Gardens all over North America, but none come close to competing with this one. You can visit the Gardens in as little as 1 hour, so it's worth the effort. You may also purchase souvenirs at the gift shop. The Gardens are close to Henderson Lake, Henderson Golf Course, & the Spitz Ball Stadium. It is on Mayor Magrath Drive, the largest shopping area, & home to Motel/Hotel Row, close to dozens of food outlets.
