“Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Jasper”
Reviewed August 8, 2012

Stayed here twice now (September 2010 & June 2012) and enjoyed our stay both times. We will certainly stay again next time we are in Jasper. We stayed in the King Suite both occasions. The room is well appointed & kept spotlessly clean. Jennifer & Brent are very helpful with advice of hikes, places to visit, restaurants to eat at etc, and makes you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. As for the review which complained about the "House Rules", they are nothing that anyone with any common courtesy wouldn't do anyway, eg: take shoes off as you come in, keep noise down from 11pm-7am, leave enough space for them and the other guests to park etc, nor are they thrown in your face as implied in that review. If you leave anything behind, Jennifer will post it home for you. I was dumb enough to leave a can of bear spray behind, that can't be posted, but Jennifer says she will keep hold of it until our next visit, whenever that may be. Location wise is very good. Only a short walk (5 mins, if that) into town for dinner, and nice & quiet so you get a good night's sleep. If you are intending going up Jasper Tramway, you can see the upper terminal from the rear entrance door, so you can see if it's worth going or not. We would defiantly recommend Juniper House to anybody.

We stayed 3 nights at Juniper House and found it to be very comfortable indeed. The room was large and tastefully decorated, as was the en-suite with brilliant shower. Bathrobes provided was a welcome touch. The town centre is within easy walking distance and Jasper is a lovely location with plenty to do and see. Jennifer was a very welcoming host and went out of her way to offer advice and make recommendations. We cannot recommend Juniper House highly enough and our grateful thanks to Jennifer for mqking our stay so enjoyable. Mike and Rita, England.

We were very impressed with the standard of the accommodation at Juniper House - our 'room' was more like a luxury apartment with everything we could possibly need for a relaxed and comfortable stay in the town.

The bed was very comfortable indeed, and with tempertures in the mid to high 30s during our visit we were glad of the cool basement location and actually had our best nights' sleep of our 3 week holiday travelling around this part of Canada.

Jen was a great host, providing tips and information about the area, and was always available to us if we needed her without being in our faces.

We managed quite well without having breakfast provided as there was a kitchen with fridge, coffee maker, kettle, microwave, toaster etc. and we preferred to make our own arrangements and keep our privacy.

If you want a real home away from home, or something a bit more 'up-market' than an old-fashioned B&B, then I'd recommend Juniper House.

Jennifer and Brent were very welcoming hosts. We arrived on Canada Day, and they had personal guests they were also looking after, but nothing was too much trouble. The local information provided was very valuable. We saw things we may otherwise have missed. Don't let the idea of a basement room be off-putting - even though it is simply a place to put your head, the room was light and airy and well equipped. This is simply B&B Jasper style. If you want hotel accommodation go to a hotel. Juniper House is close to everything in town. We never had to drive to get to shops and restaurants. There is off street parking that is easy. Patricia and Pyramid Lakes are only a short drive. Jasper is so small it is very easy to become acquainted with the necessary routes. Can highly recommend Juniper House.

Fantastic host who put us up at the last minute, thank you. The room was well equiped with fridge and kettle and the bathroom was modern with a massive shower. The room is in the basement so if you want to spend time looking out of the windows then not the place for you. We didn't spent much time in our room as Jasper has plenty to do to keep you out of it.

The only negative were guests in an adjoining room who were sooooo noisy and the walls must be very thin, but we found some ear plugs in the bathroom so used these and had a good nights sleep in the end.

Room Tip: One room has a kitchenette which you may find useful if you want to cater for yourselves.

Love this place. The owners put so much care into the rooms. I definitely would go back and would recommend it again and again. I also think it is one of the best accommodations available in Jasper. It is also quite central. However, it is not easy to find. And while the free coffee voucher handed gives you an opportunity to enjoy a coffee in town and experience a little more of Jasperian life which I personally think is lovely, some other people who don't have a lot of time in Jasper might find this a hassle because no other types of breakfast is prepared and they also have to find where the coffee shop is. However, the room does come with coffee and tea-making little doodle which I find for me is sufficient enough. There is no shop nearby, no reception area (communal area) and no view. But if you have your own transport, that shouldnt be a problem. I find it a lovely little house indeed. Also the owners really take their time to ensure your comfort in every possible way. Lovely people. If you come in the summer, do book in advance and make sure you have got cash with you because they do not take credit card.

Room Tip: If you come as a family, choose the king's room. This comes with own kitchen.
