We decided to check out the rock climbing wall at the Activity Center on our trip to Jasper. It was a nice facility and relatively easy to find and park. We were greeted at the door by a very friendly woman who answered all our questions and was super nice. We had to fill out waivers and were told that in order to climb you had to have your own rock climbing shoes NOT runners/sneakers (They do not rent any on site) or go in sock feet. We each paid $10 and that was for unlimited usage. We had to take our shoes off before entering the facility (so don't wear your manolo's ladies) and then we entered into the changing room. They have lockers in there to hold your things but make sure to take quarters. After changing we walked through the facility we saw the pool area which looked nice. There was some renovations going on during our visit but had little to no interference with our activities. We had to walk through the gym facility as well which was nice and well stocked for cardio/weightlifting. The rock wall has its own room. There are lots of mats on the floor to catch your falls. I guess we were thinking this would be a supervised area with harnesses and stuff but it wasn't. The walls are set up for what looks like a club so us casual climbers didn't do so well in our sock feet. It was pretty tough. If you have any experience and your own equipment you would have a good time. It was fun nonetheless, but we didn't get up to high. Prepare for some muscle soreness as well. It was a good time if you are just wanting some fun.
