This accommodation was ok. We had a small studio room which was quite nice. My main problem with this venue is that you have to love stairs. The grounds are quite nice and it is in a quiet location but close enough to everything. The restaurant was pretty good.

We stayed at this inn for seven nights during Christmas 2013. The main reasons we selected this property was that it offered suites with kitchen, separate bedroom, wood burning fireplace, and Wi-fi. None of these facilities turned out to be satisfactory. In fact, the fireplaces are a potential hazard to comfort and perhaps to life.
1. The fireplace chimneys are a potential death hazard because smoke from fireplaces in other rooms connected to the same chimney filled our room. (The maintenance staff told us that this is a frequent problem). The front desk offered to move us to another room, but told us that all rooms with fireplaces have the same issue. Therefore, we decided to stay put.
2. There were no batteries in the smoke alarm. As a result, the smoke alarm did not go off when the room filled with smoke. Because the room does not meet fire regulations, we will be advising the fire marshal in Jasper;
3. Prior to the arrival date, Best Western sends welcoming e-mails to guests advising them of special events. We received such an e-mail informing us of the Christmas Dinner. Being a vegetarian, I asked if there would be a vegetarian option instead of the turkey, and was advised by e-mail that a vegetarian option would be available for Christmas dinner. However, none was available. There was poor communication between the sales people and the kitchen. Our server, Matthew Cushing, apologized and offered to cook some tofu. We declined the offer and he went out of his way to serve us and even waived the charge for dinner and drinks. Matthew is their best act.
4. Wi-fi functioned for only 2 of our 7 day stay. Front desk and technical support informed us that this is a frequent problem with the service provider, Shaw. On our second day, we asked the front desk if the hotel could contact Shaw and have the service restored. We were told that was not possible. Eventually, on the fifth day of our stay, someone at the front desk called Shaw and the service was restored, although reception was spotty.
5. There is dresser or closet in the cramped bedroom with only 18 inches of space on three sides of the bed. There are hooks on the wall to hang clothes and no space to place a suitcase.
6. The kitchen design awkward – the microwave is placed on top of fridge and difficult to operate; the draining rack is too large to fit in the space provided by the sink; there are no ice cube trays in the fridge and we were told by the front desk that the hotel does not provide any.
7. The telephone is difficult to operate because it is poorly placed.

The restaurant on site has an uninspired menu and there is not much here for vegetarians or those looking for lighter or healthy fare. Restaurant staff, on the other hand, is excellent.

On the plus side, the inn has a good recreation area with a pleasant pool, hot tub, sauna, and steam room on the property.

Dear Brijesh M

We are very sorry to hear of your disappointment in regards to your holiday stay with us!
Our team has reviewed all of your concerns. We have it noted on your reservation that the smoke issue was addressed when an employee came to your room to light the fire and to offer more assistance if needed. The fireplaces are cleaned twice a year. When we are running full house and a fireplace is not used, smoke can be drawn down the chimney but should be detered by the damper. Our Maintenance department will be checking the flu in the room for its working order.
There definitely should have been batteries in the smoke alarm which we understand were replaced right away once this was noticed.

Our apologies for the misunderstanding in regards to the Vegetarian options for Christmas Dinner. Although the menu offered Vegetarian side dishes, there was not a Vegetarian Main. We are pleased to hear that Matthew took such great care of you when he realized our mistake.

We do have issues periodically in our area with the WIFI and unfortunately this was the case during your stay and the whole town was indeed affected.

Due to health regulations we do not supply the ice cube trays but offer 3 ice machines on property.

The one bedroom suites have a phone on the wall but also a cordless phone as required by Best Western standards for your convenience.

We are pleased to pass on your kind comments to our employees and happy to hear you enjoyed our Pool facility.

Should you be travelling in our area in the future, we hope you will consider staying with us again so we may have the opportunity to make amends.
Sincerely
The Best Western Jasper Inn Team

My family just spent 3 nights at Jasper Inn the weekend before Christmas. The room was typical with the 2 double beds and a small bathroom. The room was small but it was clean and well maintained. As I said, the bathroom was quite small but clean and there were plenty of towels. They give you soap and a bottle of conditioning shampoo (rather than shampoo and conditioner separately) so if you really value your conditioner, bring it from home. The fridge in the room is tiny but it worked and you can always get ice from the machine if you need it. They do have a decent size pool and hot tub and steam room. I didn't use it but the kids did and enjoyed it. The best part was the great breakfast that came with the room. It turned out that only 2 adults get free breakfast but we only had to pay a little extra for our 2 children (11 and 15 year old) and it was well worth it. They offer eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, pastries, oatmeal, fresh juices, etc. The service was also excellent. We did eat at their restaurant the first night and the food was good and well proportioned. The only complaint was the chicken and waffles my son ordered was raw in the middle. The waiter immediately apologized and offered to replace the undercooked chicken. This was very nice of him except that the replacement was also undercooked. We did notify the front desk so hopefully, the kitchen staff has figured out what's going wrong with that chicken fryer and it won't happen again. All our other dishes were fine. So overall, for the price we paid, it was a good deal and we probably would stay there again, especially if they offer the breakfast included option.

Went to Jasper for Christmas and stayed in there loft suite. Fantastic room. Will sleep 5 easily. Room has fireplace and small kitchen. very clean. Staff fantastic. Outstanding service at hotel and restaurant. Buffet breakfast great for $10. If you have a family or group of skiers, lots of beds to stay.

Room Tip: Choose loft suites and central location for restaurant and pool, hot tub and steam room.

It was the first time in my whole live a hotel took care before you arrive. With the guest folio we got from time to time we know exactly what to expect and what we can do. All questions to make our stay better were responded. Their customer care on Facebook is outstanding. We know more before: no air-condition and no elevators. And we were offered to have passes for the public swimming pool as their pool was closed due to construction works. The more you know before you arrive the smaller could be the disappointment. We had a personal problem to solve and need some tools like mini-screwdrivers for computers. And we really doubt to get something in Jasper but they just said that they will keep some for us ready at the front desk and they did. Well - when you arrive you really want to turn away as the appearance might anything else but up-to-date. The pattern and color-scheme took you right back to the past. But when skipped the first moment of shock you experienced a wonderful team who carried you on their arms and did everything you asked for. You had a room which had all amneties which you normally even would not get in hotels with more stars. We were happy not to have an air-condition and could use the windows to have the fresh air of the Rocky Mountains. But that was also the only disadvantage: as our room was close to the out-door ashtray they had party and chats all the nights. Next morning with the breakfast: who was expecting a typical Canadian breakfast buffet was most "disappointed". The variation of fresh fruits was really nice and egg did not mean scrambled eggs from liquid eggs from a box: a quiche. Even when you missed something and you asked: they just got it for you. Although the coffee was quite well for European taste we asked for one from the Barista-machine against fee. This was really good. We had the choice. It was great.
