After having enjoyed the magnificient drive on the Icefields Parkway, the Best Western Jasper Inn is quite easy to find in a quiet street near the center of Jasper. This town enjoys a variety of good restaurants and nice shops. But most important is the beautiful surroundings and the many easily assessible spots where nature at its best can be admired.
The hotel is old fashioned and renovation is long overdue. We stayed in the Loft-suite : downstairs there is a livingroom with chairs and a kitchen. Also the master bedroom with Queen bed, which room was so narrow that there was hardly any room between bed and walls, Moreover there was no wardrobe. Finally there was a small (4sqm) bathroom with a half- bath, a toilet and a washbassin. Up (the small)stairs there were 3 single beds. It is hard to imagine how 5 or 6 persons can live in this small suite. Luckily you have a balcony.
The TV had bad reception. No airco.
Buffet-breakfast was ok . This hotel is highly overpriced.

A long journey down the Icefield Parkway to Jasper was enhanced by staying at the Best Western in the Town. A lovely Hotel with Great rooms, fully kitted out with a mini kitchen. The onsite restaurant offered a good variety of evening meals in pleasant surroundings. The staff were extremly helpful and the whole experience was enjoyable.

The Best Western is in a quiet part of town with adequate on site free parking. You can walk to the centre of Jasper in 10 minutes. The standard room was very comfortable and spacious. The staff were friendly and helpful. The on site grill was fine and had quite a varied menu. It's not the most modern hotel, but it has all you want - plenty of hot water! It had all the expected facilities in the room. As others have said there are no lifts, but the stairs were neither many nor steep. We were there 2 nights, one of which the hotel was full, but we weren't troubled by noise. I would certainly go back.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the back are quieter.

From other reviews we chose a loft room. The very narrow stairs are a bad choice for older adults especially for use at night with so little light. I agree with other review that the lighting was terrible. The bathroom was so small. There was a musty smell from the fireplace. The whole hotel seemed quite dated - they could use a good revamp. The room was clean. The breakfast buffet was just OK. There was nothing special about this hotel for $223 a night. Would not stay again.

What can I say? It's a Best Western. You learn not to expect a whole lot from this chain although we've had some pleasant surprises in the past. This, however, was not one of those times. The place has seen better times. It's just dated. We had a studio kitchenette with a queen, so the size of the accomodations was perfectly fine. We had stayed at much nicer places on this particular trip, so this one was a letdown. But on the plus side, it was 3 blocks back from the main drag (which is also right by the railroad tracks). So it was a least quiet. The staff, while not particularly friendly, was aslo neither rude in any way. They were just doing their jobs. While the price was high for what you get, it really was the going rate for where we were and the time of year. I would consider going back because looking through the town, I didn't see anything a whole lot better.
