“Noisy motel with poor house keeping”
Reviewed July 15, 2011

We stayed here for three nights while exploring Jasper National Park - and I wish we'd chosen someplace else.
To begin with, as others have also remarked, this is really more a motel trying to be a hotel. The property is rather old, and flimsily built - so you hear your neighbors' every sneeze or snore. Not conducive to a good night's sleep.
We had two rooms, one of them in what they call "loft" style, which means that to optimize the use of the cramped space they put the bed into a tiny upstairs alcove. Not to be recommended for older customers or those having trouble constantly walking small, steep stairs. Note they did not even ask us before assigning this room type.
House keeping is another major problem area. The rooms were poorly maintained with dust and spots everywhere. What's more, this is the only "hotel" I've ever experienced that charges you an additional fee if you want them to actually clean the room. I'm not joking - during our entire stay they did not once provide fresh glasses or cups, but instead insisted that since they provide you with a kitchen sink in your room, you are supposed to wash them yourself. Ridiculous!

Jasper National Park is a wonderful place to explore, so do yourself a favor and pick a better hotel to do it from than the Jasper Inn.

We have just had 2 nights at this hotel. I think it needs a refurb. The rooms were dark and musty smelling.

Stayed here for one night. Hotel needs upgrading. Rooms look dated. Our room, a non-smoking room, had a definity smoking smell to it. Rooms have no A/C, and unable to open windows given that our room was at ground level. 15 minute walk to the area with restuarants, stores, etc in town. Would likely stay elsewhere and be willing to pay more next time.

On the edge of town and near to several other hotels/motels. About 10 mins. walk to centre of Jasper, a small town with various amenities. Good size clean rooms with comfortable beds and furnishings. We stayed for 2 nights and used the hotel restaurant for breakfast and evening meals, service and food quality was good. Location is ideal for touring this beautiful area and we would stay here again.
If you need provisions for a packed lunch, try the 'Bear's Paw Cafe' near the Jasper Tourist Information Centre. A visit to Maligne Canyon and Maligne Lake is highly recommended, watch out for black bears on the way!

The room we were allocated, was called a loft. It was great. As you had your living area, kitchenette, bathroom, and balcony, then there were stairs to the bedroom (I would have called it a mezz floor). Everything was clean. On checking in, we also ended up with a complimentary buffet breakfast, which was great. Serials, juices, loads of fresh fruit, yogurt, muffins, pastries, breads, bagels, tea/coffee. We found it easier to go to visitor information, and then you could telephone from there, to see what accommodation was available. We had started collecting Best Western Reward Points in Kamloops, so think thats how the breakfast came about. If you looked to the left out of our window in the loft, you could see the rockies, so that was nice. The Inn was a nice stroll from town, and you had the choice of two supermarkets, so very handy. Again a nice location for us to tour from. One thing to remember, to gain your points not only do you need to be a member, don't book through a third party, as points are void. Would recommend to friends who would be visiting Jasper.

My husband and I stayed here for (2) nights and the room was very nice. No air conditioning, but ,with window open it was fine to sleep. We had a fireplace and living/kitchen area on the ground floor. Service was good and staff were helpful and pleasant. Had a breakfast in their restaurant and it was good. Had dinner at the "Fiddle River" downtown, upstairs, and it was delicious. We would stay here again because of location and motel service. Go tour Maligne Lake, a special afternoon.

Room Tip: Winter sports fans would appreciate these rooms.
