Stay was good. Thought it wasn't very clean and the room needed an upgrade as the floor tile was falling apart. Bathtub needs new taps. The fridge freezer was so built up with ice you could hardly fit something in there! We paid over $300 a night so i think they could afford upgrading the rooms! But love the location!! Would come again!

This hotel would easily qualify for a four star just because of the fabulous setting but the rooms were musty and the customer service was less than average. This could be largely because of the off-season rates and time we were there but one would hope that basic services wouldn't be compromised to that degree just because of a 'special rate.'

Room Tip: We have stayed here before in the high season some years before and it was much better than this tri...

We enjoyed our stay at Pyramid Lake. It is a peaceful setting and away from the activity of the town of Jasper. We also enjoyed having Elk show up by our door each morning. The wildlife nearby was a real treat. This place is a little overpriced and our view was not that great, maybe we needed to spend even more money than we did. I was also surprised at the boat rental prices but it was in line with everywhere else in Jasper Nat'l Park. But why would the rates here be similar to Maligne Lake? Doesn't make sense to me. But this is still a very nice location and was a very good experience. We seemed to be here during a quiet time so nearby guests did not interrupt the peace and quiet we found. Afternoons and early evening can be pretty busy at the lake but it slows down later.

Room Tip: Get a room up on the hill more or closer to the main lodge for better views.

I stayed here for 2 nights and really enjoyed my stay despite a few hiccups.

When checking in the guy behind the reception desk said that they did not know we were travelling with a dog and made a really big deal about it - when I am 100% sure that they were informed. Anyway not a big deal. I would like to note that despite this hotel being described as 'dog friendly' it is not. Our dog was not allowed anywhere in the hotel except our room.

The first morning I came back from breakfast to find that my room had not been serviced 'because my dog was not in a cage' this is completely understandable - however, I wish they had of told me that when we checked in. It was the only 30 minute period when the dog was in the room unattended. I asked for some extra towels to be sent to our room and was told that I would have them shortly - but they never appeared. Instead I had to go and get some myself.

Aside from that, there was a few occasions when the management and staff at the hotel were extremely rude and unhelpful. I travelled there with a group of family and everyone felt the same way. It really seemed that they didn't want us being at the hotel despite that we all stayed 2 nights and had around 12 - 15 rooms booked. I would expect much better service considering that.

The view from the hotel is absolutely breathtaking though and despite the above hiccups I would recommend staying there.

Lake is pretty, staff are relatively helpful, boat hire is expensive with no deals for guests, but overall it is an underwhelming place which is pretty pricey. Also hotel sound insulation is poor so you hear other guests and room which is billed as a suite is v cramped for family of 4

If you are in jasper, go to oka sushi for supper - awesome

Just got to canmore near Banff and for the same money as pyramid lake, we are in somewhere a zillion times better

This summer my wife, my son and I spent three very enjoyable days in the Jasper area using Pyramid lake resort as our base. This resort situated on picturesque Lake Pyramid is a 10 minute drive from town. We were very pleased with our second story balcony room facing the lake. The room was a bit dated, but perfectly clean and comfortable. The chalet style room featured a queen bed and a sofa bed, fireplace, and high vaulted ceiling. The meal we had at the hotel restaurant was excellent. My son braved a swim in the very cold water and was glad for the hot tub afterwards. He found the beach a bit too weedy and thought later that diving off the dock would have been a better idea. Canoes for rent accommodate only two people and the so-called kayaks are really just pontoon boats, so we didn't bother renting even though the beautiful calm water would have made a nice paddle. No power boats are allowed in the lake. We opted for local hiking trails and were able to experience the spectacular scenery surrounding the lake. The hotel was an excellent jumping off point for our visit to the tramway on Whistler's mountain (breathtaking, especially if you make the arduous climb to the peak) and white water rafting (exhilarating) on the class II, III Sunwapta river. Along with the drive to the Columbia ice fields, these are must-dos in Jasper.

Room Tip: Second story facing the lake.

Stayed here for a week on a hiking holiday. The location is very pretty, on a lake, but view from terrace obstructed by thick trees. Also the hotel is quite far from Jasper town, so have to use your car to go for a meal or to buy groceries.
The room was spacious, the bed comfortable. The furniture could use a bit of updating. A fireplace in the sitting area was a nice feature.
The service, particularly housekeeping, has room for improvement. The bathroom was not thoroughly cleaned, and the bed was not always made.
Overall, an acceptable place, but needs improvement to be worth what they charge.
