“Quiet Retreat”

We stayed here for two nights on our touring trip of one month to U.S and Canada. Under new local management and keen to please. Also stayed in founders cabin as other reviewer "prairie folk" but had no problems with luggage as golf buggy used to take luggage from car to door. Horse riding available a couple of miles down the road and the escorted 1 hr ride to "the ridge" afforded excellent views to our beginner party You truly felt like a pioneer for a few minutes. Hired Kayaks from the hotel for a potter on the lakes , far more stable than the traditional canadian canoes. Get up early before lake waters are disturbed to take fantastic "mirrored" pictures of the surrounding mountains.

Too far to walk downtown, there is no air conditioning. To walk from the buildings to the office or the lake is a real uphill climb. They provided us with 2 fans but due to the window screens being bent and off the frames we could not keep the windows open because of all of the mosquitos. The bed was comfortable and the rooms were clean but the sleeper sofa was very uncomfortable for sleeping. This place was very overpriced for what they provide.

We visited this resort with friends during a trip to the Canadian Rockies, and spent three nights there. The resort is located a short drive outside Jasper, on a road that could do with some repairs. The property is right on Pyramid Lake, and the restaurant overlooks the lake. We were there over a weekend, and most of the guests seemed local, including a wedding party.

The check-in staff were efficient although rather impersonal. We stayed in one of the premium rooms, which was large with a fireplace and table at one end, and a balcony overlooking the lake. The room was comfortable and clean, and we had an enjoyable dinner in the restaurant. There is free parking outside the rooms and in front of the main building.

This resort is a pleasant, informal place to stay while enjoying Jasper and its surrounding attractions.

Room Tip: Reserve a premium room on the second floor, with access on the same level from the parking area, and...

We had a founder's cabin which was renovated and was very nice. No AC though and it was very hot so had the fan going and windows all open and it was ok. Nice new TV, fridge, coffee maker.
Had to go down some stairs and cross gravel so a bit hard on the luggage in this spot. Had 2 nice suppers in the dining room, very good quality food, not the usual menus so was a nice change. Evening service was good but not so great in the morning and my husband's eggs were hard.
We had our own kayaks and spent one afternoon on the lake, nice little beach across in a day use area, Spent the other day on Patricia Lake. Lots of nice hikes around but the mosquitoes were wicked so didn't do any near there. New ownership seems to be good.

Room Tip: If you have issues with stairs make sure you ask about the room you book.

We stayed at the resort for two nights. We had a large room with a loft which worked well for our family of four. The room had been renovated and was clean. The furnishings were comfortable.
The restaurant's food was good, but the mosquitoes ate at least as well as we did and we were the meal! A simple fan above the door would probably solve the problem. Overall, the hotel was nice, but seemed a little expensive for what it was.

Room Tip: They have a nice gym and hot tub

Room was dated and run down. Large chips/cracks in the sink. Shower nearly came apart when used. Opening in wall between outside and inside just stuffed with insulation.

Might be okay for $100/night but not the rates they are charging! I understand that this resort has recently changed hands and hope the new owners either undertake major renovations or lower their rates. The setting is beautiful and this could be a great resort with some attention.

We have stayed at the Coast Pyramid Lake Resort for the past five years or so every summer. This summer was very disappointing. I booked our cabin at least two months in advance and called to confirm a few days before leaving with my family of two boys. When we arrived we were bumped from our confirmed room that we payed for to a much smaller room that was noisy and smelled like sewage when the fan/light was left on. They compensated us by providing free breakfast (which is also overpriced for your basic eggs and toast) and a boat ride. The manager, who was sitting right there did not even apologize for the mess up. As a result...we will NOT be returning and will spend our family vacations elsewhere!
