Stayed here while on a bike trip, the front staff was very helpful and professional. Location is great. Affordable for being in jasper. The only downfall to the room I got was it was facing the Athabaskan hotel which is the main party bar so it was quite noisy on the Saturday night, on the following day we took part in the noise and didn't hear a thing once we finished partying.

i HAD READ OTHER REVIEWS ON THE NOISE FROM THE DOWNSTAIRS BAR. I phoned and reserved in advance to ask for q uiet room. Apparently there cannot be any due to the noise from the bar and the constant thump of the base until 2 a.m.. Outside the group leaving was constantly yelling and hence the need to close the windows and not take in the fresh northern air. The room was decent and the hot tub and steam room were old but maintainted. The main problem was my wife and I were both unable to sleep. Either they decide to be a hotel or have a noisy bar...you cannot be both. Don't stay here if you want to sleep...ther are plenty of alternatives. Never again.

Room Tip: No rooms are quiet. Avoid this place.

Just the place to stay prior to a trip on the Rocky Mountaineer. Love the wild life exhibition in the basement ., not very p.c. Now but fascinating to see the local wild animals in all their glory. We enjoyed the hot tub and steam room. Free wifi was good but would have
Liked a fridge in the room, can't have it all! We ate downstairs in the iTalian restaurant attached to the hotel, excellent.

We liked the hot tub on the roof with a great view. The location is very central, especially if you are arriving and departing by train as we did. Strangely the restaurant is closed at lunchtime and the pub does not allow minors. The rooms were very comfortable with a quiet A/C which was needed as it was hot while we were there. Lots of eating options nearby such as Smittys which is great for breakfast.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights and found it ok as we only returned to our room at night and the rest of the time explored Jasper and environs. But just ok. The hotel is somewhat dated, although very clean. To me its most prominent feature remains noise - if you are in one of the rooms facing the railway station, you will be hearing trains all night long. And they are noisy and frequent! Location, however, is absolutely central, so if that's your main concern, go for it.

Room Tip: just go elsewhere - on one side you get the railway station, on the other - the pub.

Thank you for your comments and for acknowledging the hard work of our Housekeeping and Maintenance staff. We are so pleased with the effort that they put out each day and it is wonderful to hear that their work is being recognized.

While I understand that a downtown location is not always ideal for the amount of foot and other traffic that can generate street noise during the evening, I would like to point out that the railway runs from one end of Jasper to the other. As such, train noise is not unique to the Whistler's Inn and the only way to completely avoid it would be to stay at one of the outlying properties 10-15 minutes out of town.

Thank you again and I hope that overall you enjoyed your Canadian Rockies Adventure.
