Called in here at the end of a great boat excursion on Lake Maligne. Self service style and as there were not many queing it was quite a quick service for a range of reasonably priced drinks and snacks. We did not choose to have a full meal, because of time constraints, so cannot comment on the full menu. What we had was OK, a good average, and in nice surroundings with the views down on to the lake and the cruise boats..

Although Canada seemed very expensive to us this establishment compared very favourably with cafeterias like that on the Icefield. In fact streets ahead! Beautiful location and excellent location felt uncrowded. Good choice of food at reasonable prices ( for Canada).

Popped in here after our cruise on Maligne lake. It is a large self service restaurant. We had tea coffee and sweet treats. There seemed to be several choices of hot meals, and lots of interesting cakes and pastries which looked home made, and tasted good. There is a large decked area , as it was very cold when we were there it was nice to sit in a sunny window, and admire the scenery. I thought the prices seemed reasonable as we were miles from anywhere .When we arrived there was a Moose and her baby in the lake, which made it very special.

Very much a cafeteria, doubt that much if any of the food is created on site. Service was poor and servers couldn't wait to close the restaurant. We arrived a half hour before closing and were having tea and goodies with our grandchildren. We felt very unwelcome and the staff beat us out the door at closing time :( Would not go back.

The restaurant is a large self-serve place with an outlook and huge decking area facing the Lake. It is not to be confused with the other nearby restaurant, Maligne Lake Chalet, which was re-instated to it’s former glory in 2011.

When we returned from a cruise of the Lake we only managed to grab some hot drinks prior to closing but it looked a nice enough place to have tried more if the hours had been extended. When looking for details on TA I noticed that reporters had grouped reviews for The Lake View and Maligne Lake Chalet under the title of “Maligne Lake Chalet” alone hence this entry.
