We booked a rafting trip for our family of six. Parents and four kids ages 8 to 16 on the 5 mile run on the Athabasca river. Our guide was Tim and he was helpful, full of information and very good with the kids. We could not have asked for a better guide. The raft ride was a perfect combination of float and rapids for our first time out. It only made us hungry for more though! The kids had a chance to jump in the river for a quick swim in the river as well, the scenery was incredible and Tim had all the answers to our many questions about wildlife and the area. You are provided with wet suits (including booties) and life jackets. Instruction on safety is done before you get in the river, the paddling is not too much for young children and it is a whole lot of fun!

Our bus driver doubled as the photographer and took some incredible photos! The $25 price for the cd was reasonable and we bought it. We can hardly wait to go back!

We booked this trip to Maligne Lake to give me a break from driving. I was expecting a shuttle bus to the Lake, a trip on the Lake over to Spirit Island and then back to Jasper. How wrong! With our guide Katie, we had the most amazing day ever! Although billed as a half day tour, Katie was so generous with her time, that after ascertaining that none of us had a hair appointment that afternoon, she took her time to make sure we had the best experience. She was a super, knowledgeable and witty guide and she made sure that whenever we stopped, everyone had taken their photos before we set off again (we were a party of 8). The hike around the Canyon was terrific and armed with her knowledge, from now on I will always buy the correct Christmas tree that doesn't shed needles! The guides on the boat trip at the Lake were also friendly and entertaining. On the way back we spotted a beautiful elk and the highlight: a black bear. This trip was one of the highlights of our holiday and worth every penny. Katie, you do an amazing job!

This was one of the more expensive activities we did on our Rockies trip but definitely one of the most memorable. We did the 5 hour Fraser river 3+ raft trip after finding out that the Sunwapta was already too low. All the staff were great from start to finish...especially our outstanding guide. The bus ride from the Jasper office is about 1 hour on a school bus (it was a bit longer both ways for us due to road work that was out of control of the company and only one road going to the destination).

Once there, there were bathrooms and change rooms to get on the wetsuits, splash jackets, shoes, etc. A quick but re-assuring safety demonstration and we were off on our trip. Our guide assured us that he hasn't had anyone fall out of the raft in 10+ years and the only time we were in the river was voluntarily when we were allowed to briefly get out near the boat in a quiet section of the river.

The trip path was beautiful with the river, falls and mt. Robson all along the way. Sitting in the back of the raft was less intense than in the front (but we could take turns switching spots). Overall it wasn't actually a lot of work (except when the raft had to be carried for portage.)

We bought the CD full of photos for $25 at the end. A must do in Jasper!

Myself and two teenagers took the Fraser river 3+ whitewater adventure. It was a beautiful day, the scenery was gorgeous, & the guides were very friendly & knowledgable. The hardest part was portaging the raft around Rearguard falls, but we managed to steal the water guns out of one of the other rafts! It was a beautiful ride & I recommend it highly.

Had the most AMAZING experience rafting down The Fraser Float ride this past week. We were assured this was a family friendly float and that we were to feel very comfortable to bring my 11month old son..i was obviously skeptical. I am so incredibly glad that we went anyway and as soon as my son was used to the feel of the life jacket it was amazing! We both enjoyed the ride immensely! The views were indescribable and our guide, Ben, was FUN, informative and WITTY! He was wonderful with all of the children and us adults on the ride. He was well aware of the audience and how to cater to all of us with info and humour! I can't wait for my turn to do the white water rafting with Maligne Rafting on my next summer trip to Jasper!! AWESOME!!! Thanks!!!
