“Good food friendly atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 2, 2012 via mobile

This was our first experience eating Korean food and we all really enjoyed it. All the dishes we ordered were delicious. We started with dumplings and the pork, kimchi, and mung bean pancakes, then we had Hae-Mul Bok-Um (mixed seafood) and a swwe and sour chicken dish. The staff was friendly making for a pleasant dining experience. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this restaurant.

“Very pleasant surprise.”

It was a really nice change from too many bar and grill restaurants in Jasper. The food was excellent, service was very good and totally hit the spot. My family and I loved it.

“Authentic Korean food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2012

Jasper isn't a place I would expect to find authentic Korean food, but make no mistake -- this place is the real deal. The flavor was excellent, the food was nice and spicy (note: the 'spicy' here is very spicy!). However, for our dinner, two things disappointed. Service was friendly enough but suffered from a few hiccups (beef and tofu soup arrived at our table with the beef missing). The other issue was the prices charged for kimchee. This may be down to the tastes of their clientele, but seriously, $3 for a single dish of kimchee is silly. At every Korean restaurant I've eaten at, there are several kimchee dishes served. It's an integral part of the meal.

Otherwise, a pleasant discovery in a beautiful part of the world.

“Flavorful and Friendly”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 24, 2012

After arriving in Jasper and setting up our camp it was already a full day at 92F. So we headed back to the small town proper to walk around, find a grocery, and a place to eat. After a couple of hours of souveigner hunting, reading about the town, watching tourists, we were starving and headed to Kimchi house.

The wonderful aroma from earlier had already settled our debate of where to eat, now only what. We ordered the dinner special which was soup, wontons, rice, and two main dishes (we chose chicken and beef). My husband also ordered a korean beer. All of the food was delicious. Everything was nicely spiced mild for my husband and spicy for me. We were promptly seated but it was more than a short wait for someone to come back to our table. Fortunately that only happened once. After that everything was fine.

If I lived in the area and not 2000 miles away :) I would definately eat there again. We paid $54 for our meal. Is this pricey, yes but not for the area. Everything in Jasper is pricey!! ($4 for a very small ice cream cone not here but example of prices.) The area makes it money from tourism which is a small window of time.
