A must do on any trip to Jasper, any season. A walk to all the bridges is the way to go. Nature at its finest.

Maligne Canyon is definitely a must do when in Jasper, just a short trip south east of town but thousands of years back in time!

If you have the time it's best to go the full route, depending on how much time you take to enjoy the scenery it can take 1 to 3 hours. You can start at the bottom and work your way - then back down or start at the top and then come back up again. The reason for doing the full canyon is that you can see the erosion of the rocks from water falling hundreds of feet to where it is still running along the surface, beginning to carve its way to through the next thousands of years.

Take your time, wear good shoes! Take a snack. If its warm definitely take water along, the only place for food or drinks are at the top of the canyon. The facility at the top (at the main parking lot) has a restaurant, vending machines, washrooms and a gift shop.

If you don't have a lot of time to explore it is still worth visiting and checking out the top of the canyon

Maligne Lake was very moody and atmospheric and the whole thing crowned by a sizeable male moose not only posing for photos but swimming across the lake! Worth seeking him out!

The canyon has long paths so hikers can decide how far they want to go - great for long hikes or short ones. Something for all ages! The short hike offers great views and interpretative signs of water falls, rock formations and vegitation. Definitely worth a visit. Plan an hour for the short hike.

Maligne Canyon will overload your senses. From the sound of rushing water to the beautiful winding paths, to the scent of wild roses on each breeze. Experience it.

We started at the 2nd bridge form the bottom (I think it's called 5th bridge). It was an absolutely amazing trip upstream as the canyon kept changing, becoming wider/narrower, the trail higher and lower, the waterfalls and cliffs... fairly easy walking but enough of it to give you a workout of sorts. Serisouly, don't miss this place!

Worth the walk along the limestone canyon with waterfalls and walking trails, amazing to see how the water over years has carved this stunning canyon.

These canyons are very steep containing many water falls. An incredible walk awaits you. You should do the full walk and not miss any of this amazing canyon. I've been here a couple of times over the years and I'm always amazed every time I see them.

A nice canyon to visit. Several short hiking trails can be followed on rather easy path ways. It can be slippery when it is wet due to rain or snow.

We stopped off at the canyon on our way to the Maligne Lake and it merits more than just a brief stop off. Very deep canyon with waterfalls etc that can be viewed safely from the pathway.
