“Noisy, could be more welcoming”

This hotel is one of a group of 5 and the facilities are divided among them. Laundry is in another hotel and the business centre in yet another, 10 minutes walk away. Many of the rooms have very noisy air conditioning units. I demanded to be moved because of this and, although I was given an attractive room, it was placed between the main air conditioning system and the lift. This may be the noisiest hotel I have ever stayed in. Reception staff very smiley but a bit patronising and deal with complaints quite badly. Customers are forced to be quite pushy to get results. Breakfast OK but there is no excuse for tinned fruit.
It was nice to be greeted with wine and snacks on arrival. There is nowhere to get a cup of coffee in the afternoon.

My husband and I visited Jasper as part of a tour for our honeymoon, so by the time we stayed at the Chateau Jasper we had already been to some really nice places (particularly Banff). The Chateau Jasper is a small hotel around 15 minutes walk from the main part of Jasper. There are actually a little clump of hotels nearby, including some owned by the same company.
Our room was pleasant enough – it looked like it hadn’t been decorated in a long time and had outdated furnishings, but it was a decent size and was clean. I had emailed to let them know we were on honeymoon and they put out a small bottle of sparkling wine and some chocolates with a card, which was really nice.
We tried out the pool on our second afternoon staying at the hotel, and had a great time. It was completely empty other than us (I think a lot of people had gone on afternoon tours and we didn’t see any families while we were staying there). The pool was bracing (perhaps a little cold!) but there was room enough for a bit of swimming, although it wasn’t particularly deep. The jacuzzi was lovely – nice and hot with a switch on the wall to get the bubbles going. After walking around the hills and mountains it was great to just relax!
On our first evening there we ate at the restaurant. They had a good choice of drinks and a fairly varied menu including bar snacks. The service was fairly prompt (there were quite a few people eating there) but compared to some of the other restaurants we had been to it could have been better. The food was good which made up for it taking a little while to come to us. The portion sizes were good, especially for the bar snacks.
We also tried the breakfast buffet at the hotel, as we weren’t sure we fancied the 15 minute walk into town on an empty stomach. It was average – the pastries could perhaps have been fresher and the coffee was over-brewed. But there was a choice of fruit and cereals, and the hot breakfast looked nice (although we opted for continental).
Overall it wasn’t a bad hotel, although with hindsight as there are so many other hotels around it I don’t think we would go back. The Best Western next door looked really good and I would be tempted to try there should we ever return to Jasper. As a stopover it was OK, but I didn’t have a brilliant night’s sleep and breakfast could have been much better.

We spent two nights here and may have been spoilt as we were allocated the "Prime Minister’s Suite". Friendly helpful staff and a good restaurant. The hotel is a reasonable walk into town provided it is not raining! We would stay again if visiting Jasper.

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of a 3-week trip in Canada, and I have to admit I was a bit nervous about it from reading some reviews. However, I can recommend the hotel as a good base for Jasper. The hotel is a 10-minute walk from the town centre, but that wasn't a problem as we had great weather and the area seems very safe. Our room was clean and a great size, with a comfortable bed and a fridge. We slept really well and heard no corridor noise. The hotel is dated, but I can't fault it otherwise, though they do only have one computer for internet access, which was very busy. From seeing other hotels in the area, however, I think most are in the same league, so I would recommend this hotel.

This hotel is close to bars and restaurants and more important for us only 5 minutes and you are surrounded by beautiful lakes and mountains. We loved Jasper for its location and the un touched natural town. The rooms are a little tired, however the staff are great, on the ball and the location makes up for this. Would I stay here again yes I would.

We arrived late in the evening and front desk staff were very helpful if service was slightly slow. Our room was huge, with views over the mountains - fantastic. The two queen beds in our room were extremely comfortable. The room and bathroom were very clean and warm. The hotel was 90% full but we heard not one piece of noise through our stay. Yes the hotel decor could be viewed as slightly out dated but we found all areas to be very clean and well kept. Hopefully we will visit Jasper again and we would definately seek to say here again.

2 nights here the hotel is on the outskirts of town a good 10 /15 min walk (but its on the flat) hotel check in all ok and room ok looks old and dark but all good , big under ground car park so no problems there, the only little down side for us was the coach partys, it was like a stampeed to get breakfast, then out and stand in the lobby waiting the the coach in everyones way, but we booked knowing its a big stopover for the train and coach, so would try to avoid this next visit,
