“Didn't want to leave”

We found Alpine Village to be absolutely charming. We stayed in one of the Deluxe Family cabins with double bed in main floor bedroom and queen and twin beds in loft. The decor was rustic yet modern with many sweet little touches. The unit was very clean and comfortable and grounds impeccably kept.

What a great place for kids (and their grateful parents!)-- playground, tree house, little shed with outdoor equipment, many board games and books to borrow from office. My boys made friends in a neighbouring cabin and barely spent any time indoors.

The setting is absolutely beautiful and quiet. We love Jasper and would definitely stay here again when we return.

Stayed for five nights but wished it was for five weeks! Sheer luxury and opulance in a stunning location. Extremely courteous and helpful reception staff who went out of their way to ensure our comfort. Bungalow very well appointed and looking out onto the pine forest where the occasional deer wandered past. ideally placed for either sitting by the river or wandering into Jasper. We would certainly hope to revisit at some future time.

After reading reviews of the Alpine Village both here and in Frommer's I thought it was going to be spectacular. It's a fine place, but very overrated. The one staff member we met when we checked in was very nice. Our room, itself was very nice, but I was dissapointed by the location of the Alpine Village, itself and our room as well. From the website, I thought the hotel would be off the beaten path, next to a river, perhaps a bit secluded. But it's right on highway 93A and our room faced that highway. Not my idea of a view. And though our room faced the river, we couldn't actually see it. I was never sure if I was hearing the roaring river or the traffic from 93A and nearby 93 (also known as the Icefields Parkway).
What I was really dissapointed with, though was the housekeeping. The first day I left a small tip and thought maybe we had been snubbed because of it, so the second day I left a larger tip and the housekeeping was even worse. The towels we reused were not refolded, the shampoo we used was not replaced, the glasses and dishes we used were not washed and put away and the floor was not vacuumed (don't worry, I picked up the crumbs myself). If the hotel cost $99 per night that would have been okay, but this was $260 per night with a three night minimum.

Absolutely perfect, the cabin was clean, romantic and made our honeymoon perfect. Our first visit to Canda and this was everything I expected Canda to be with traditional log cabins. The staff were very friendly and we received a complimentary bottle of bubbly and chocolate in the cabin on our arrival. A short scenic walk into Jasper, wish we could have stayed longer. Very scenic, truly wonderful - we will return

What a beautiful place to stay and the location is superb. We stayed here for 3 nights in cabin number 8 which was perfect, lovely and clean and we couldnt believe that it was one of the older log cabins. It was perfect for the two of us and we enjoyed BBQ-ing outside the cabin that much that we never went into town for a meal. It was lovely to walk across the road at the front of the Village, sit on the adirondack chairs by the river watching it flow swiftly by with the mountains in the background, sipping wine and watching the summer sun go down. It was so peaceful and only a short walk or drive to downtown Jasper. We would highly recommend the Alpine Lodge. Make sure you do some White Water Rafting, its brilliant.

Our family of 5 stayed for 2 days, our original plan was for 4 nights but unfortunately that was not possible. We took the Deluxe Family Cabin with a double bed in the bedroom, queen bed & twin bed in the open loft.
The cabin was absolutely amazing and very clean. A Wood burning fireplace in living room and a kitchen with dishwasher and a very luxe bathroom. Everything was available to make the stay as comfortable as possible. The location is perfect, next to the river and 5 minutes from Jasper. You can only hear the water of the river and the birds. Visiting Jasper, we absolutely recommend this accomodation.

We were given one of the "new" cabins during our Jasper visit in July 2009. Get one of these cabins if you can! They were absolutely beautiful, and exceptionally comfortable.

This very large room had a very comfortable king-sized bed, a sofa bed, chair, flat-screened TV and deck with chairs. The Elk were grazing just outside the room The kitchenette had a microwave, fridge, and coffeemaker -- we cooked very adequate light meals there. The bathroom was exceptionally beautiful. The lighting was excellent for bedside reading. Whoever designed these rooms had a great sense of both comfort and style, and my hat is off to them.

The new cabins don't have the beautiful river view of the older cabins, but the amenities more than made up for that. The hotel is located about 2 km from town, which makes for a lovely walk if you need the exercise.

The Alpine Village is a total winner, and I would recommend it to travelers of all kinds.
