“Comfortable and very good hotel..”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 22, 2013

Stayed here for two nights in June. We had a large comfortable quiet room with coffee/tea making facilities and very comfortable bed. The only downside being the lack of A/C in the room which tended to be a little warm. Also used the Hotel pool and hot tub although the sauna was more warm than hot!

I guess though given the stunning sceenery around Jasper you wont be spending too much time in the hotel...

Well lets see I currently work in a hotel in Kamloops, BC and was trying to help out some stranded guests here with the Rocky Mountaineer. There were supposed to be travelling to Banff but were being re-routed through Jasper. I was calling to find out if anyone in the town had any spare rooms. I was answered with a rude NO and IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE?? I don't think those sentences were necessary no matter how busy you were. Needless to say nobody will be referred to that hotel at any point in my future.

Thank you for your comments and I am sorry if you felt that our clerk was being rude. The floods in Southern Alberta are a horrendous situation for the residents and guests. Jasper was a popular alternative for a lot of the people who could not get to Banff and Canmore area and this put a strain on our resources. As a member of the hospitality industry I hope you can appreciate the situation we were in and that the comments were not meant to be rude but we were trying to assist as many people as possible by keeping phone calls as short as possible.

we were given room 141 accross the hall from the hotel laundry. after entering our room, I looked around to turn the air conditioning on but found there wasn't any. so I plugged the fan in and my husband went to open the window, only to discover there was no screen in it. unable to leave the window open overnight because we didn't want any 4 legged visitors, it ended up being a long, humid and fairly uncomfortable night. as we were getting ready to leave in the morning, it dawned on me to look at the window set-up again, I then realized that there was no latching mechanism on the window and that anyone at any point during the night, could have entered our room. upon bringing it to the managers attention upon check out...our saftety was worth a $50 discount on the room. I won't be back.

Dear Guest,
The safety and security of our guest is a top priority for us and I am sorry that we did not make this guest feel secure. All of our windows have a locking mechanism including this room. The windows in room 141 are a sliding type with a clasp on the side which locks them into place. Upon inspection of this room we found that one of the windows had been removed from its track and put back in such a way that the locking clasp did not catch, this has been repaired and we are working on a solution to ensure this type of adjustment to the windows cannot happen again. In my discussions with this guest I given to believe that the credit given was agreeable to both parties however it appears that this was not the case and we have addressed this directly with the guest.

Stayed here for two nights. Our room was lovely and comfortable with two large beds and also two armchairs. Beautiful bed linen and soft, white towels/good toiletries in the fabulous bathroom. Ice machines and good (free) internet access. Kettle as well as a coffee percolator. TV. Not much in the way of wardrobe space but I guess people don't stay here for that many nights so not really a problem. About a 10/15 minutes walk into town but well worth a visit. Would stay here again.

The hotel is about a 15 mins walk from Jasper centre but it is all on the flat. Close to the station for the Rocky Mountaineer train.
Lovely views of the mountains with snow.
The rooms are large with a separate dining area with fridge freezer, large cooker, microwave, toaster, kettle. Also dining table and flat screen wall mounted TV. also a bed settee.
Beds are large and very comfortable.
Free wifii.

We stayed here one night. Nice hotel, clean and rooms were big. Facilities in the room were average but suitable for a short stay. Bar in the hotel was lovely beautiful views. A lovely way to spend an evening with an outside veranda. Well located for Jasper area, 10 mins Max walk to main town.

We were a group of 2 couples with one teen - and we had booked 2 rooms at the Lobstick. While they could not give us rooms on the same floor (we were told that since we had requested for one room with a kitchenette and the other with king bed, they could not be on the same level), both the rooms were decent with good beds. There can be some noise at the lobby level if there are large groups - but it is generally a quiet and nice place to base one's stay in Jasper
