“very nice hotel”
Reviewed April 13, 2013

WOW, a room more like a self contained flat with its own fully equipped kitcen that was spotlessly clean, a lovely clean bathroom, two queen size beds that was so comfortable. The staff was helpful and pleasant. But the best thing was the party we was with was having meal (that was pre-pland with the tour group) my husband became ill so we could not attend so the staff of the hotel got to gether and brought the meal to us on trays, o.k it was a bit cold by time we got it BUT how good is that top marks for effort. In the early morning if you are willing to get up you may see elk out side of the hotel.I must al so add i did not find it noisy but once i hit the pillow you could nick the bed and i would not feel it go HA HA, love this hotel big yes i would stay again

Our room was certainly big enough and it was clean, nothing was broken and the beds were comfortable, what more could you want from a budget hotel? I sympathise with some of the other reviews that mentioned kids running down the corridors, this seemed to be the case when we first arrived, lots of families using the pool, but it must have been their last night because we didn't hear a thing for the 3 nights that we were there.
Breakfast was ok, we tried the cooked option that we paid extra for, but thought this a waste of money, the standard one was sufficient (though we did have a very good breakfast at Smittys in town - highly recommended). Ate two evening meals in the hotel and the service was very good in a nice seasonally decorated restaurant. The first was a very good burger and the second was fish and chips. The wife's cod in batter was fine, but one of my cod fillets seemed to have a very tough centre (couldn't get through it with my knife). didn't complain as the remainder was ok. That night however I spent an uncomfortable hour or two at 3 in the morning bent over the waste paper bin expecting to see a return of the fish! Managed to keep it down with the help some Alka-Seltzer and paracetomol.
Spent an enjoyable hour one afternoon in the outdoors hot tub alternating between the pool, the sauna and the tub.
Overall, can't really complain, the stomach upset may have been the fish or something else, the service was good and the rooms servicable. Nicely located, all the town attractions are in one direction and within walking distance. As I said an Ok-ish hotel.

VERY NOISY!!!! Ignorant tourists. Had to complain several times. What kind of people let their kids run through halls in a hotel? You could hear every door close. dogs barking. was on the top floor next to stairs. absolute joke!!!! left at 8 am from a 2 night stay because so frustrated. We definately slammed our door when exiting the hotel and let our suitcases hit every stair!!! An apology was all we got. i guess thats how they get their rooms cleaned quicker. Never go here if you want to sleep. confronted a man at 8:15 am for slamming his door, he was just ignorant. ignorant people have no conscience!!!!! went for supper the fri night at 6 pm. we were the only people in the restaurant, which was a bad sign for us to stay, so we left and enjoyed the greek dining at L & W , totally recommend that restaurant!! saw our waitress from the hotel at marmot and she just glared at us.

“I am sorry your stay was not as enjoyable as it could have been. We did have some guests in the hotel over the period that you stayed that were louder than we find acceptable and have instituted new policies to deal with this behavior. We feel these changes will have the desired effect and make for more enjoyable stays for all of our guests”.

Stayed weekend of march 17th. Older room obviously but clean and everything worked. Food was very good at the buffet dinner we attended the Saturday night. Could use an actual lounge. Headed downtown each nite as no lounge but cabs were usually no problem.

Room Tip: Third floor seemed best for us. Had fridge, microwave, etc.

Initially my thoughts were that the place is very dated. However I think this is common with most hotels in the area. Despite the dated appearance the hotel is clean, well located off the busy main road of Jasper and the staff 'go the extra mile'. When I return to Jasper, I would definitely stay again.

Dear vickiandrich,
Thank you for your comments and for sharing them on Trip Advisor. The town of Jasper is in the middle of Canada’s largest Rocky Mountain National Park and is governed by guidelines to ensure the architecture compliments the natural surroundings. Due to these guidelines the exterior of the buildings are not changed however we try and keep the inside as up to date as possible.

Stayed here for 2 nights to go skiing at Marmot. The hotel and rooms are dated but clean. Wifi is complimentary and parking is outdoors and available.
Biggest problem with the hotel is noise. The doors and walls are paper thin and there are people constantly walking and talking in the halls that sound like they're in my room. We are in a 2nd floor room and it feels like someone is banging on my ceiling like its a drum. It's just people walking around the room above us.
The tv is a large flats teen but the channel selections are basic. The alarm clock is an ancient but functions.
You can walk to town but its a bit of a hike. Driving there is more likely.
The pool is a reasonable size and goes to 5' deep but the water is cool. There is one indoor and 3 outdoor hot tub which are hot but comfortable. However all the hot tubs were crowded around 5pm.
Small inconvenience in that we booked a room for 4 but there are only 3 bath towels in the room.
Advice for staying here, if you don't mind stairs, stay on the top floor due to noise.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for your comments. I am glad you appreciated our new flat screen TV’s. We just got some exciting news from our local cable provider. They are upgrading their system in the near future to an a digital signal so we hope this improve the image and possibly the selection.
All commercial pools & hot tubs in the province are regulated by Alberta Health Services (AHS)which include temperatures. Our pool is kept at a temperature of 27° – 28°c and our hot tubs are kept at 40°c. which fall with-in the AHS guidelines.
I will address the issue regarding the number of towels as our standard is 1 set per person.

My wife and I enjoyed the experience. Our room was great. The facilities were outstanding. I used the pool, the sauna, the hottubs. They were clean and well maintained. Staff were knowledgeable.
Reading the other reviews, I found the rooms quiet and comfortable. One thing I did miss in the room was a microwave.
I would definetely be back and tell others about this place.
Thank you for a positive experiece and have a great year.

Room Tip: This was a first time there so not sure about the other rooms, but ours was perfect.
