Amazing views. Modernized log cabins. Choose from the Lodge and “connected log cabin” rooms (from separate “family” cabins to large duplexes with porch swings to smaller ones about six in a row). Cabins have a shared front porch and back patio. Each small cabin’s patio section has two Adirondack chairs—same concrete for the set of cabins, but each has its own area to the side of its entry door. Screen doors on both front and back. We were on the north side above the water—cabin 353 and the next two over have a woods view instead of a parking area behind them with trails to the water (gravel one is not handicap accessible due to steep incline down to water. Brick paver one is less steep, but bumpy. Smooth asphalt roadways throughout with complimentary chauffeured golf carts available upon request for transportation throughout complex.) Accessibility info—One step up to porch sidewalk, one curb step to patio path. Tub-shower had one hand-rail by faucet. Bathroom doorway in our cabin would NOT be wide enough for a walker or wheelchair. Both cabin entry doors are wide enough for walker. Possibly other cabins more accessible.

Room Tip: We were on the north side and it was quiet. Some construction going on closer to main lodge.

When you are in Jasper even if you are not staying at the lodge you MUST have breakfast there. The breakfast buffet is amazing! From the details of how the food is laid out on the tables to tantalising your taste buds. Restaurant is quiet, ALL the staff are professional, well dressed. Highly recommend you place this on your list of places to eat. Just be fore warned you pay for quality.

This is definitely the best hotel in jasper!
It may be the most expensive and so it may not be affordable for everyone but it is definitely the best.

Location:
It is a 10 min drive from the town of jasper but you can walk into town in 45 mins (3.6km) via the lake and bridge.

On the drive in we had elk walking across the road right in front of us and so we had the wow factor.

The grounds are very well looked after and when you drive up to reception the boys are at your door straight away ( tip - join Fairmont rewards scheme and you can check in online before you arrive making it seamless )

Room:
We were upgraded to a Lakeview lodge 0512 (thanks Fairmont) and it was amazing!
It was a 1 bedroom lodge, similar to a hotel suite, with chairs outside facing the lake - unbelievably beautiful.
We read about lack of air con and it’s true, we had a ceiling fan and when windows were open(mesh to stop insects coming in) we found this perfectly adequate.

Service:
Every member of staff we encountered were super friendly ( special thanks to barman Mathew? Who served us outside on the terrace even though it was supposed to be closed. And the young guy in the nook restaurant with earrings - sorry can’t remember your name due to alchohol )
From the girl who checked us in to the girl who checked us out - thanks for making this a special visit.

Amenities:
We did not use spa or pool but they looked beautiful.
We walked around lake which takes around 1hr and is stunning.
Golf onsite looks first class.
Horse riding onsite.
Shops, restaurants, and bars - all good quality.

Summary:
Very reaxed atmosphere.
We found the whole place so magical that we really did not want to leave.

Stayed for two nights at the Jasper Park lodge and was lucky to share the Queen’s lodge (point lodge) with 5 other couples. When the lodge was first opened. The Queen stayed in this lodge which has 6 bedrooms (suites) with a full size lounge and dining room with a fireplace. The kitchen is well equipped with oven, fridge and dishwasher. It also has a small games room and a large outdoor BBQ area. This lodge is “fit for the queen”. The Park lodge has a lovely lake with elks and occasional black bear roaming in the compound and its 18 hole golf course. The buffet breakfast was excellent like in all the Fairmont hotels that we stayed. The buffet dinner was delicious especially the pork ribs and mouth watering Alberta beef. Highly recommend 5 Star hotel to stay.

Compared with the other hotels I saw in Jasper, the Fairmont is by far the most luxurious option. But don't confuse that with a luxurious property.

The grounds of the property are beautiful but staying here did not feel like an upscale resort. We arrived at check in and were directed to our room, which required us to drive up, unload our bags and then park quite a bit away, like a motel stay. The room, which was an upgraded larger room, didn't feel any more well appointed than a budget hotel either.

The extra space didn't add much and the waters in the room were never replaced. The bed was comfortable but the towels were not at all soft. And the patio that was touted online had views of the road in front of it.

After being in the Fairmont Lake Louise and Banff, I had expected to really be wowed by this property. It was all just fine but expensive. At almost $600/night I expected more.

Room Tip: Lakefront or else you're looking at the road
