We reserved our stay at Jasper House Bungalows partly based on reviews by other travelers on this site. We were not disappointed. Our little suite (#15) looked out at a mountain and the river. I saw 2 elk literally 2 feet from the window. It was clean and very comfortable. There was a laundry, which was very convenient for our mid-trip wash. The office staff was very accommodating and pleasant. It's very convenient to the town. We highly recommend Jasper House Bungalows!

The one bedroom bungalow we had, although not on the river was very comfortable. Cozy, would be the best description, but that sometimes is used for small. The size of the unit was just right. The kitchen was well stocked with ustensils and dinnerware. Everything was spotlessly clean. My wife who can find dirt anywhere was impressed.
We made our own breakfasts and packed picnic baskets for lunches on the trail. The restaurant was simple but excellent. We had dinner there. Twice. The trout was delicous. They were very generous with the almonds on it. But ,surprise! The most outstanding dish we had there was their minestrone soup. The balance of the acid of the tomatoes and the fresh veggies made this soup something to want to come back for.
My only complaint was that the coin operated laundry either had a faulty washer that did not spin out enough of the water in the wash, or the dryers had no heat. After two cycles the clothes were still completely wet. 90 minutes for a smallish load should have been dry. The office gave me my money back, but the waste of time on vacation was frustrating. The clothes dried very well spread out on the back seat of the car. The elk did not visit the grounds during our stay, but a bear crossed in front of our car nary a mile from the hotel.

Nice and clean cabins. Outside of town but it’s just a short drive or bicycle ride. If you like walking, you can even walk to town. There is also a nice walking trail next to the Athabasca River. My only minor problem with our cabin was that the only window in the room was facing the parking lot so we have to keep the shades closed and that made the room very dark. I think that it would be nicer to stay in one of the cabins in the back, next to the river.

We stayed 3 nights out of a total of 5 nights in Jasper. The cabin was good and inlcuded a small kitchenette.

You must have a car or a bike to stay here and it is a convenient distance from town. A car park out the front of the cabins is available, which is convenient, but your neighbours cars are also out the front and guess what..............you may not want neighbours that are early risers.

To clarify things, you and your neighbours share a timber building that comprises two living spaces. Don't be under the impression that you have a stand alone cabin. This is probably obvious enough on the information about this accommodation, but I must have missed this detail and it takes away from the experience ever so slightly.

Small separate bedroom with no space for luggage. Lounge area has room but not a designated area for a couples' worth of luggage (let alone for the whole family), so one of the bags took up its own awkward place in the cabin (it ruins the ambience you're seeking in timber cabin).

When we considered this destination, two reviews mentioned hearing neighbours and one mentioned having to endure a some kind of argument by a neighbouring couple. We thought this could be a problem and considered this could really compromise our experience. We didn't find that noise from neighbours was a problem. However, we did have an extraordinary circumstance over 1 night that was outside the control of the accommodation, so we won't go into detail.... but we certainly had a story to tell friends for the rest of the trip. It is worth noting that reception were particularly un-helpful during this incident.

We stayed in peak season and so the rates were high. I felt the accommodation didn't match the price but I'm sure that can be said for the vast majority of accommodation at that time of the year in Jasper. However, if I did feel it was overpriced, it wasn't too far off being OK value.

My partner felt it was better value than I did. She really liked looking over the river (we had a riverfront room-that we requested on booking)... I thought it was too far from the river to add any significant value to the experience and would have been just as happy to be elsewhere in the grounds.

There were chairs and tables available on the grounds for having a meal outdoors. The walks we took up and down the athabasca river were nice, a mixture of natural beauty and white-water rafters. Lots of critters in the nearby woods too.

We also stayed in budget accommodation in town for 2 nights to help balance the holiday budget. This other accommodation was great value.

Papa George's in town is (almost surprisingly) really good for a meal and came with exceptional service. Earl's is open really late for a meal and beer which is great after a long day of hiking and relaxing at the Miette Hot Springs (and for a chain restaurant, it was really good too (go figure) - we went back again).

In summary I was a bit indifferent about this accommodation and my partner would give it better than average. My indifference was mainly due to value for money.

We stayed here 2 nights and had a cabin overlooking the lake at back of the property. Our cabin was in a block of 4 attached cabins and as another reviewer has pointed out we were initially worried about noisy neighbours, but once inside the cabin it was very well soundproofed and we didn't hear any noise.
The cabin is a bit like a tardis - much bigger inside than the impression you get from outside, it had a seperate bedroom, bathroom, lounge and kitchenette. Very clean and well looked after.
The location was superb, very peaceful and secluded.
We actually had Elk wandering right up to our cabin to see what was going on.
Would not hesitate to stay here again or to reccomend it to anyone.

Jasper House Bungalows was the perfect place to be after our Icefield Parkway trip from Banff. It was private, home-y and truly relaxing. We spent the first of our 4 days in Jasper exploring the "backyard" - the banks of the Athabasca river. We would have wanted to stay another day except we could not move our train schedule. It is a wonderful place to be and a good base to explore the other attractions in Jasper. We got a motel-type unit that was just right - comfortable and very clean.

Spent two nights and had a wonderful time. The rooms were sqeaky clean., nicely decorated. They provided games, books and allowed a camp fire. Beautiful setting and views. Saw a herd of Elk and some deer. Very rustic cabin feel. The shower was extremely small hovever. Service and food was excellent! Property nicely laid out.
