Basic, but OK rooms. No WiFi but understand in middle of nowhere. Nice receptionists.
We parked in main coach park because we had read up on here. There is also a free guided walk at 7.30pm and my husband went on that. Luckily the others didn't turn up so he got a one to one guide and probalby saw more than usual. Great ice cave.
No breakfast included and restaurant on site very expensive. We were prepared and took food and cup a soups for dinner but did have breakfast. $9 is a bit much for Oatmeal!
Double bed, sofa bed and another one upstairs. Small window but get a great view of stars at 4am. First time since whole of Orion and not just his belt!
As you are at foot of glacier you get chance to get on first bus out in the morning which is a bonus.

Dear Wildpoppy,

Thank you for your recent review of the Glacier View Inn. It is a real treat when our guests use TripAdvisor to help maximize their experience with us.

The lack of internet is something Brewster Hospitality is currently looking at fixing. We are in the process of securing the funding to jump start this big project.

It is definitely hard to beat the view you get from your window at night when you are in the Rockies.

Thank you again for your review and I hope we are able to welcome you back to the Inn should you return to the Rockies.

Sincerely,

This hotel is in a terrific location, right opposite the Athabasca Glacier. Hotel guests can park in the coach park rather than the general car park, which means that you don’t have to carry your luggage up a mountain of steps – but the hotel receptionist didn’t volunteer this information; we had to ask. Our room was large and comfortable. The food in the restaurant is quite expensive – we ate there for dinner and breakfast – but the quality was exceptionally good, as was the standard of service (quick, helpful and friendly). If you’re on a tight budget, there’s the café, though that is not a particularly cheap option so, if you’re on a tight budget, buy some supplies in Banff or Jasper. There’s no wifi connection and you have to pay to use the hotel’s computers (one of which was out of order). So this is not a cheap place to stay, but for quality of food, service and – above all – those fantastic views – I’d say that it is well worth it.

Dear KWD_11,

Thank you for your recent review of the Glacier View Inn. We greatly appreciate hearing from our guests as it allows us to celebrate our successes and make improvements to serve you better in the future.

We at Brewster Hospitality are very pleased that you thoroughly enjoyed your stay with us. Reviews like yours lets us know that we are doing something right!

We do recognize the need for internet in our hotel and we are looking into securing the funding to be able to provide our guests with an internet connection in their room.

If our guests ask, we are sometimes able to provide parking in the Bus parking lot, but it depends on quite a few factors (if there are many bus arrivals early the next morning we might not be able to offer this service). We do, however, allow our guests to pull up to the rear of the Icefield's Centre and unload their vehicle at the Inn before parking for the night.

Thank you very much for your business and recommendation.
We hope to welcome you back in the near future.

Sincerely,

We were very disappointed with this hotel. On the positive side. The bed was very comfy and the room a good size with 2 more single beds in the loft. We stayed as part of a deal with going on they glacier the following morning (which I highly recommend ) , but in hindsight I would have driven t Jasper for the night and come back to do the glacier trip.
The walls were horribly thin and you could hear every time someone turned a shower or tap on. Some child ran up and down the hallway as his money was jammed in the coke machine and as we tried to get to sleep (it was 11pm) all we could hear were foot steps, banging doors etc. the fact that all water stopped flowing in the morning with no ETA for water didn't help matters.
The worst part to be aware of is the food. As you are a captive audience, no shops or other establishments nearby, you are held to ransom. The restaurant is separate to the hotel, so make sure you take your credit card to pay. The food was well below average and prices well above. For example 2 average sized spring rolls $10 plus tax ( we didn't have those... opted for pasta which had the wateriest sauce i have ever seen and no taste) breakfast 2 bowls of cereal and 4 slices of toast was $24 with taxes.
Go elsewhere!

Room Tip: Mountain view = looking at the mountain right up at the back of the hotel, no real view, also genera...

Please accept our sincerest apologies that you were kept awake by our other guests.

The morning the water stopped working we had maintenance issues that needed to tended to before we could turn the water back on. We continue to take preventative measures to ensure this does not happen in the future.

We are pleased that you enjoyed our comfortable and spacious rooms.

Based on reviews here, I was not expecting much. I booked the hotel as part of a package which included a glacier tour and breakfast. I had a good experience at check- in...the gal was friendly and helpful. The room was huge and included a loft with 2 twin bed in addition to the queen downstairs. It was clean and well maintained. The view of the glacier and mountains was great! The negatives were that there was no Internet and there was only the VERY high priced dining room. This place is very isolated and there are no other dining options. Since breakfast was included in our package, we did eat that meal in the dining room. My French toast was just ok...if we'd had to pay the bill for breakfast, it would have been the most expensive breakfast we ever had!
If you like peace and quiet and a nice room and aren't concerned about the expensive meal options, then this is a good choice. The location is good if you want to spend time enjoying the Icefield Parkway in a leisurely way.

Dear sswksq,

Thank you for your recent review of the Glacier View Inn. We greatly appreciate hearing from our guests as it allows us to celebrate our successes and make improvements to serve you better in the future.

I am glad you mentioned our packages as many people are unaware that we offer them. The packages are a great way to save on your trip as they group together meals, accommodation, and attractions. Most people that book a night or more at the Glacier View Inn eat on site and purchase tickets to the Ice Explorer.

As Brewster Hospitality does not own or operate the food and beverage facilities at the Icefield's Centre we are unable to control the pricing and quality. We do suggest that people who are budget conscious pack some food of their own or opt to eat in the Cafeteria as it's price point is under that of the Dining Room.

Our location is an excellent choice for those who want to spend quality time at the icefields, ski, hike, etc.

Thank you for your feedback and I hope we are able to welcome you back in the near future.

There is only a tiny sign on the Icefield center that says the name of the hotel. We drove past it twice before we saw the sign! Bed was comfy, although room was a little hot.

View of the glacier was awesome and it was nice to stay there in between Lake Louise and Jasper since it is quite a drive either way.

Make sure you ask for a glacier view room. If you book thru hotels.com or expedia you can book the standard room and pay a $20 upgrade fee to get a view.

Room Tip: Ask for glacier view room. We paid $20 for an upgrade. Rooms on the back may be loud if you have t...

Dear carrieredflash,

Thank you for your recent review of the Banff International Hotel. We greatly appreciate hearing from our guests as it allows us to celebrate our successes and make improvements to serve you better in the future.

Brewster Hospitality recognizes the need for additional signage to assist guests in locating the Inn. We are currently negotiating with Parks Canada to increase signage.

You offer a great suggestion to our future guest to upgrade to the glacier view rooms. They are on the quieter side of the hotel and away from the generator and offer incredible views of the largest icefield in North America.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback and we hope to welcome you back soon.

Does have nice Glacier View but only good thing I can say. In the middle of nowhere. Half way between Lake Louise and Jasper. Almost impossible to find if you don't know it is actually the lodge where the Glacier trips leave from on the Colombia Icefields. Bed really uncomfortable and service not much better.

The little gem was the restaurant. The food was really good but as there is nothing else around you are a captive audience so their prices a little rich.

Were booked to stay two nights but stayed only one.

Room Tip: If staying get a Glacier view room but recommend just continue on to Jasper.

Dear ewp23,

Thank you for your recent review of the Banff International Hotel. We greatly appreciate hearing from our guests as it allows us to celebrate our successes and make improvements to serve you better in the future.

Please accept our sincerest apologies that you did not enjoy your stay. We advertise ourselves as a remote location 2.5 hours from Banff and 1 hour from Jasper. Many of our guests stay with us because it breaks up the driving and/or because they enjoy being able to stay in such a remote location, though it is not for everyone.

We are currently in talks with Parks Canada about putting up signage for our guests as we recognize the difficulty in locating the property.

Thank you very much for your business and we hope you enjoy the rest of your visit to the Canadian Rockies.

The hotel is totally geared towards but tours of the glacier.
We could not find the lobby as it is tucked away in a room somewhere.
Completely overpriced, both the room and the food.
Brewster Coach Company just wants to keep the bus tours coming through
and doesn't care about the hotel guests.
A cash cow for Brewster.

Room Tip: One things, beautiful views out of the window on the glacier side.

Dear Sheldon K,

Thank you for your recent review of The Glacier View Inn. We greatly appreciate hearing from our guests as it allows us to celebrate our successes and make improvements to serve you better in the future.

As much as I appreciate your review, much of what you say is incorrect. We do not cater to many bus tours as we are only an Inn of 32 rooms. The majority of bus tours that stop at the Icefield's Centre are there for the Ice Explorer and do not check-in to the Inn.

While I cannot speak for the Food and Beverage Facilities as they are a third party company, I can say that we at Brewster Hospitality care about our guests and appreciate that they deserve the best services possible. Our entire management team reviews the feedback we receive from our guests and makes improvements where we can based on those comments. Our guests often mention the lack of internet so we are now looking to secure the funding to make high speed internet available in guest rooms. Additionally, the location of our parking lot has also surfaced in comments so we are putting forth our best effort to create 'guest parking' closer to the hotel.

Since your visit, we were able to put signage up on the frost-glass doors and our guests no longer have any difficulty finding the lobby. Please accept our sincerest apologies if the lack of signage caused you any inconvenience.

We are very glad that you enjoyed the views of the glacier from your room and thank you again for your feedback.
