This was a treat to ourselves after hiking to the summit of Sulpher Sklyline...so our muscles loved it. Hungry and had a bite from snack bar but not enough seating! Very busy in summer but again felt good on our skin and muscles to soak for a while in the sun after a big hike!

Dear Tina,
Thanks for the kind review of Miette Hot Springs. It sounds like you had a wonderful day in Jasper National Park with a fantastic hike and a soak in the hot springs. The Sulpher Skyline hike is one of Jasper’s great trails where one can enjoy open meadows filled with wildflowers. It’s accessible from the parking lot near the hot springs where one may also have a picnic in the day use area nearby. A less strenuous option for an outing is the trail to the source of the hot springs to see the ruins of the original aquacourt building about a kilometer from the parking area. Do plan to visit again!

Warm regards,
Donna Cook

The water is not as hot as some, and it can be a bit crowded, but all in all, it's a nice facility. I preferred it to the other two hot springs in the Canadian Rockies - Fairmont and Radium Hot Springs.

Thank you for your review of Miette Hot Springs and we are sorry to hear that it was not what you expected. Some visitors do expect to see a rock pool and more natural setting for the mineral pools when they arrive. The hot springs at Miette do not naturally flow into any type of natural containment but instead, flow into a stream after emerging from the surface. In order to contain them, we must direct the flow into a series of pools that were built to accommodate the numbers of visitors that wished to use them and to allow for proper sanitation of the mineral water so that public health rules are maintained. Many years ago, Miette’s first pools were made of logs and mud. As the springs became more popular, the government closed these pools and built the first of two facilities that have served visitors ever since. One may still see the ruins of the depression era building that is a short walk from the present day facility. We do hope you may consider visiting again to enjoy the natural mineral water and relax among the peaks.

Warm regards,
Donna Cook

New views down the fiddle valley are stunning while soaking (the old fence used to block all the great views, so this was a very nice change).

New cold pools really add several nice features:
1: kids can play and splash without offending the soakers
2: hot/cold dips are amazing for loosening the tight muscles after the wonderful Sulphur Skyline hike.

Enjoyed it with my 8-yo and darling wife, and friends from AUS.

Hi Chris,
Thanks for your comments about Miette Hot Springs in Jasper National Park. Lots of our visitors are enjoying the new views of the valley and mountains that are visible with the removal of our old fence and the installation of the new cool pools. They can be chilly to dip into but lots of fun when you have two other hot pools to retreat to. Glad you had a wonderful time with your family and friends at this iconic Jasper attraction and hope to see you again this summer!

Warm regards,
Donna Cook

It was one of these rainy days after a night of freezing temperatures and snow. A bit dissapointed that we had to postpone our planned hike. So we went to the Miette Hot Springs.
I knew in advance that this place could be crowded and didn't expect more than a swimming pool with hot water. No high expectations.
It turned out to become a perfect break after days of hiking. We arrived arround noon and it was not that crowded. Views of the snowed mountains were spectaculair. The place has four different pools (14-20-38-40°C) and is safely accessable for families with kids.

Dear Dieter,
You made a great choice to visit Miette Hot Springs when the weather got challenging for hiking! It’s a great place to enjoy Jasper National park in any weather but is especially enjoyable on a cold fall day. The views truly are spectacular and it is not uncommon to view wildlife along the road to the pools. Do plan to visit again – a soak in the mineral water is a great way to rejuvenate tired hiking muscles and get you ready for another outing in the park.

Warm regards,
Donna Cook

Nice to check out even just once. 2 large hot pools and 2 small cold pools. Our son had fun going back and forth. There were a lot of people there, tough to find a spot in the hot pools. When We left, there was a huge line out front to get in. Maybe try to go early. You can get your passes from airmiles if you order in advance. And bring your own towel to save the $2.

Thanks for your review of Miette Hot Springs in Jasper National Park. You visited at one of the busiest times of the year – a Canadian holiday weekend. I am sorry that you found it crowded and encourage you to try visiting again at another time. And yes, your suggestion to visit early in the day is a good one – mornings are usually the quietest time of day to enjoy a relaxing soak.

Warm regards,
Donna Cook
