The parking area is fairly close to the start of the falls trail. It was a good hiking place and the falls were gorgeous. Each stop you think it's just another falls area, but they are all so different. You will enjoy this hike.

These falls are definitely worth a stop. Be sure to take the road to the left of the Lodge. This road brings you the parking lot that is closer to the falls. From here, it's just a few minutes to the lookout bridge overlooking the falls and canyon. This is the best view. The Sunwapta River makes a sharp direction change here and drops into a deep canyon. It's a beautiful view, and is well worth the visit.

This is a must do if you're in Jasper National Park, and it's very easy to access. It's right off the Icefields Parkway at the Sunwapta Falls Rocky Mountain Lodge. Don't park in the parking lot at the Lodge, unless you want a long walk. To the left of the Lodge is a road that goes downhill and brings you to another parking lot. From here, it's just a few minutes to the lookout bridge overlooking the falls and canyon. It's a beautiful view, and is well worth the visit.

I've been to Jasper a number of times over the years and I always re-visit my favourite spots. I once again went to the Sunwapta Falls, first week of October. I love walking along the paths, breathing in the crisp mountain air, feeling the midst from the falls and listening to the water. My concern is watching tourists from other countries climb on the rocks near the falls to have their picture taken. This is so incredible dangerous, every rock including those on the pathway are SLIPPERY. It wouldn't take much to slip and fall into the falls. If you visit, please use common sense and don't take unnecessary risks! A nice, scenic drive from Jasper and worth stopping at if your travelling on the Icefield's Parkway. It doesn't take long to walk through the area and you may even find a unique 'treasure' at the gift shop:) Enjoy!

This stop is just off the highway. We were there in early September. The falls were running good. I was afraid with it being late in the year that the waterfalls in this area would not be running good but that was not the case. This attraction doesn't take very long. There are several different views of the falls and additional trails you can take. Certainly worth a visit.

Pretty falls hidden just off the main Ice Parkway. Ample parking. Quite busy with visitors and coach parties.

To my mind a much more enjoyable waterfall stop, than the Athabasca Falls, which are a little further along the Icefield Parkway.

Stopped here on the way home. The hike from the parking lot is 0.6km - very easy.

Pretty place to stop quickly.

It’s short walk from the car park or Sunwapta Falls Mountain Lodge to these awe inspiring Falls. Walk a further 1km to the lower Falls for another great Falls view. The intensity of the water flow is amazing. There are several longer walks available from here also.
