The science/story behind this lake is fascinating and when we went during the summer the views were very pretty. The crackled, dry ground at the shore was cool and we saw an elk from a distance down the shore. When we started driving down the road again a bunch of mountain sheep scaled up the cliff by the lake and "visited" our cars. :) It's worth the stop!
