I've been here for business lunches many times over several years. Always consistently good Italian food, particularly pasta dishes. Good service, and recently redecorated to more modern decor. Great go-to place on west Jasper Ave. Perfect for business or pleasure.

The SPC has become a staple of southside Italian, and again delivered what has become expected. On the Sunday evening of a long weekend, five of us shared appetizers of lightly breaded calamari ($10.50) and mussels in a gorgonzola cream sauce ($15.99). Reservations were essential as the restaurant was packed for a 6pm seating.

Portion size of the mains was large, as was the flavour. Ravioli d'Astice ($17.00) is lobster ravioli in a heavy lemon mushroom cream sauce. Ravioli were obviously prefrozen, and taste was somewhat ambiguous. The pollo parmigiana ($24) presented two plump chicken breasts breaded and covered with capicollo, then smothered in marinara. It was accompanied by al dente vegetables and penne in alfredo sauce.

A busy Sunday dinner service did not detract from the attentive service, as it has on previous visits.

I moved to the area 7 months ago, and finally went to SPK, and wish I hadn't waited this long. We had a huge pot of mussels in a delicious broth for an appetizer (shared by 3 of us, over a dozen each). I enjoyed one of the specials for the evening, with 2 different pastas: smoked salmon, sun dried tomatoes tossed with spaghetti, and butternut squash ravioli. Both were very tasty and a very generous portion (enjoyed again for lunch). It was a pretty quiet evening in the restaurant, so noise was not a factor as in some other reviews, and our server was attentive but not overbearing. I'm looking forward to making this one of my regular spots to dine out in my new neighbourhood!

If you love pasta, this is a great place to go. Very creative dishes: Some are Italian some are a mix from other cultures. Specials are hard to read (on a blackboard hanging high up on the wall). Service was ok, not really bad or good. The restaurant atmosphere is too much of a train station hall and loud.

This was the worst service I've ever had at any restaurant. The food was, at best, mediocre. I will tell everyone I know not to go there.
