Lovely deco, fun idea for a patio - with kind of garage doors opening to let the air in...good service but what I really liked was my food - extremely tasty - Ahi Tuna and the salad on the side was awesome, with roasted chickpeas...I saw some nice looking coktails but I hope to taste them some other time...

There is a whole genre of restaurants I abhor... "Breastaurants" hire staff based on their looks instead of skill, competence, knowledge and only marginally on their personality. They hope you won't notice how pedestrian your food is because you're too busy checking out the waiters and waitresses. Joey's is definitely a Breastaurant.
Our waiter was as thick as a plank. He asked us if we were ready to order... We nodded and muttered agreement. Then he said "OK, I give you guys a little more time to decide" and walked away. We sort of looked at each other in disbelief. He obviously wasn't attentive or aware of our cues.
I ordered a Steak Frites. The fries were very good... but the steak had been under the heat lamp for a while and the rocket salad was soggy and uninspired.
The décor is pleasant (in every sense of the word) but everything else about this place is sub-standard.

I was at Joey's for lunch on Sunday, Jan. 27. Really like the atmosphere in the indoor patio area. Bright, warm, welcoming and the indoor pool amazing. Our server was attentive, loved my Bellini and the Grandville Island seasonal beer was a hit at our table. Everyone's food was very delicious. We were very impressed with Joey's and wondered why we haven't gone there sooner.

Went for supper with another couple just before Christmas. The hostess asked if we wanted to sit in the 'inside patio' - we thought she was joking because it was very cold out, -20 something. She assured us it was nice and warm so we agreed to it. We were seated in a booth up against the single pane 'garage doors' and it was very cold and uncomfortable with an icy draft. Really should have moved but didn't want any more waiting. We had the beef dip - excellent sandwich with tender, flavourful beef, the grilled lobster brie sandwich and Moroccan chicken soup - very good but probably wouldn't order again, house salad - pleasantly surprised by its variety and taste, and a New York strip steak (ordered filet but they were out!) - steak was very good and the phyllo wrapped baked potato was delicious! The seasonal vegetables were quite unidentifiable and not very good. We ordered the apple pie for dessert and it did not disappoint! The pastry was delicious, tasty apples and delectable toffee ice cream - would go back just for that! All in all it was a fairly good evening out - good service too.

Went for a quick dinner, hostess Patricia served us and was wonderful, over the top actually.
Food is almost always perfect at Joeys, this trip was fantastic.
Love the lobster grilled cheese and the gyoza.
Can never go wrong with food, if you get Trish as a hostess, should be a perfect evening.
