It truly is like a walk back in time. A gem ticked away that can definately be overlooked. Saw an indie film there and loved the experience. I would highly recommend a look at this theatre.

This theatre has been around my entire life and I love it. Always a unique selection of movies, cheaper tickets than the theatres, great patrons and great staff. I hope it continues to stand the test of time, because it's a great place for the community.

Still the nicest place to see a film in Edmonton. Lots on indie, art-house fare. The basement is an intimate, comfy space as well, Lots of pre-and post-film places to grab coffee a meal, or a cold one.

80 years ago the Princess used to deliver gimicky movies that relied on things like technicolour over acting or plot. Their prices were also much higher (up to 25 cents) than the other theatres in Edmonton. In the 70's they relied on showing movies that appealed to specific clientele, such as Three Stooges fans or foreign film buffs. Now they are trying to compete with the big boys and show movies running in the main movieplexes. If you are going for the historical value, watch the movie on the main floor, not the one in the basement. It is the duty of Edmontonians to go to the Princess as we will all be sad if it closes.
