“Schnitzel and Strudel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 4, 2014

My wife and I celebrated with our daughter on her 25 birthday at the Praha. We were pleasantly surprised to find this European-like bistro in Edmonton. The room itself has a warm atmosphere with several occupied tables of guests busily chatting away. You can tell people are enjoying themselves here. We had the very fresh and tasty tomato-onion salad to start with followed by the chicken cordon blue schnitzel with a side of sauerkraut. Certainly has a German ring to it which was perfectly fine with us. My wife had the succulent roasted duck. A light strudel with a finely whipped cream topping provided the final exclamation to a very filling meal. Oh, and of course a bottle of red house wine kept us feeling good throughout this dining experience. Guten Appetit!

“The main course was a dissapointment”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 29, 2014

The decor was lovely with a European feel. The server was very friendly and helpful. The wine was reasonably priced. The Nadia dessert crepes were wonderful!! Unfortunately the main course dinner was very average and rather disappointing. We ordered various schnitzel dishes which was supposed to be a specialty of the restaurant. The meat was very chewy and dry and rather tasteless. The schnitzel was accompanied by a scope of potato salad which also was nothing special. The choices for salads were lettuce (and that's exactly what you got) or tomato and onion. A combination of the two salads would have been nice. I would definitely go back but only for dessert perhaps after the theater or symphony.

“Good Food, Good Service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 28, 2014

We had a small family gathering at this resturant and love the weiner schnitzel. We had 3 different varieties and all were exceptionally good. The service was friendly and effecient. The portion sizes were good. We will go back again.

“Basic European Flair”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 22, 2014

Lovely cosy restaurant in an otherwise bleak downtown area. Food was well-priced and well-portioned. The schnitzel and tomato/onion salad can rival any European offerings.

“Feel Like European Spy”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 21, 2014 via mobile

It is several years since I first had the Weiner Schnitzel at Prahas, and the original restaurant has burned down. The food at the new location is as great as ever.
Here it is, the lighting is too bright, I really wish they would lower the lighting. The salad is okay, modest, light dressing, but fine. The pan fried potatoes are great, probably fattening, but really good.
Then there's the Schnitzel. The most delicious, melt in your mouth perfectly prepared Schnitzel. Hammered paper thin, cooked in a light, thin delicious batter. The pieces cover your plate, but I guarantee you'll eat it all.
The atmosphere is cozy, you feel like a European spy, the Schnitzel is incredible now we just need to lower those lights.
