“Fast and fresh....”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 12, 2013

Having seen this place featured on "Ya Gotta Eat Here", a Canadian food type of Triple D, I was anxious to actually be in a joint so famous. Tell you what...if it's fresh, yummy and all locally sourced food. Except for the fish, maybe.

We had four fish tacos...and man alive..were they ever good. Plus we had a pulled pork plate....four wee envelopes of pork and a garnish of...stuff. An interesting thing...they have no freezers and no microwave. It's all done fresh and for the day.

We also had a jug of sangria....and now lets talk about the shot of tequila at the order counter. Apparently I was giving off the 'right vibe'...so, out came the shot glasses and 3 poured..... one for each of us and one for the guy taking the order..who was also the manager,, Nana.

My kinda place!!

It's not the place for drinks and then appies, then dinner and dessert. They turn the tables over very quickly..15 minutes during the lunch rush. The food comes up fast, presented well and before you know it, you have eaten, drank and are out the door.

“Excellent service, but average flavour”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 10, 2013

This place was featured on a food network show so we thought we would give it a try. Service is excellent and friendly, but the food was bland. Maybe it is because I had already thought it was going to be really good, from the TV show or other reviews so I was expecting more. But if I had to compare it to another mexican eatery in Edmonton it was not as good, the flavour just does not match that of three amigos. Any one who says they feel like they are back in Mexico should actually go to Mexico, because the decor is Mexican themed but a little fancy to fool yourself into thinking you are 'back in Mexico'. This is a positive point, Mexico is hot and filthy, This place was very well kept and quite nice on the inside. To sum it up, If you have a craving for Mexican food this place will definitely fill the void but I would not go downtown just to try it.

“Amazing food... go for the pulled pork!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2013

The food here is fresh, from scratch and the owners love what they do. The service here has always been consistent... and they serve Corona, which goes great with the food ;). The atmosphere is so-so and VERY busy - get there early for a seat, otherwise be prepared to take your food to go. Worth a visit every time though!

“Some of the best Mexican fare in Edmonton!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 24, 2013

My husband (who is from Puerto Vallarta) came here and Loved it!! He was missing the fish tacos that he used to have in Mexico, and this place certainly did not disappoint, Some of our Mexican friends joined us the next time and wholeheartedly agreed that this place truly captures the authentic Mexican flare.

Place can get busy, no highchairs for little ones. But it's not a restaurant per se, but there is seating.

“Authentic!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 20, 2013

What a great little place! Being regular travelers to Mexico, we are always looking for authentic Mexican food when we get the cravings! Well.... Tres Carneles is it! I recommend their fish tacos!!
The resturant is small with a very casual atmosphere. It was busy when we went for lunch and very loud. But if you enjoy good Mexican food, then I would say this is the place to try!
