There are 3 hotels right next to the City Centre Airport (this airport is only used by private planes now, all airlines use Edmonton International which is a $60 cab ride South of the city): The Ramada, the Chateau Louis and the Nova. All are similarly priced. For my money, the Ramada is the best of the three -- it has a nice lounge (not the sports pub -- I mean the bar in the lobby area), an okay restaurant called Botanica, a spacious lobby, meeting rooms of all sizes, clean guest rooms (quiet as long as you're not directly above the pub) and above all: courteous, cheerful and efficient staff.

Still, the place has come down since the days it was the Edmonton Inn, it could use a reno. This also is reflected by the kind of guests it now attracts -- there are more sports teams and fewer business people.

Room Tip: Don't stay in a room near the pub, especially on a Friday or Saturday. The East Tower is the mos...

Well what can I say about Ramada hotel. I was there on business for a few days and I am a simple man with simple needs. Wifi, comfy bed, and reliable service. This is exactly what I got. Wifi was relatively simple to connect to without hassle. I needed a wake up call which was arranged flawlessly. After I came back from my meeting I slept on a comfortable bed and was not disturbed. Price was right for me and it was everything I needed.

We had a wedding event for Ammar shawar at the Ramada Inn, on Sat May 12 2012.
The buffett was a 5 star Buffett, the food was also outstanding.
The Chef and staff were always around for any requests, and we had a night to be remebered.
Christina and the General manager went out of their way to make everybody happy and satisfied.

Our family would like to thank all the staff for their great service and hospitality

Did not sleep a wink at this hotel. Paper thin walls and doors slam when other people leave their rooms. Impossible to sleep. Checking out early and going home to sleep. Going to pick my hotels more carefully next time.

I stayed here with my husband this past weekend. The lobby area is clean and pretty. The elevators are hidden away but don't require a key to operate so anyone can wander. The bar area was nice and comfortable.
Beds are reasonably comfortable.
Now for the downsides:
-no free breakfast, buffet or otherwise.
Our room was on the airport side. If you don't like helicopters at all times, this is not the place for you.
The room upstairs would run water and the pipes would shake and bang.
The second bed in the room broke when I sat on it and no , I am not a big lady. When maintenance came to fix it, he barged right in without knocking, scaring the crap out of me.

There are better places to stay in the city. I have a review of one on this site:)

Do accidentally hit the 3 star on hot wire.. And don't know how they rat hotels but I don't believe this is a three star first room smelt and had a couch that look like they just grabbed it from a garage sale, floors where stained threw out.. Tiles looked they where rotting. That was room 654 in the east tower. So they moved us to business class.. New carpet it was probaly only 6 or 7 year old rather the 20 the room smelt less and the carpet did not appear stained.. There was a bed bug scare here last summer to the workers told us.. I called and asked about be bugs.. What a dump never again... Thanks for the experience Hotwire wont use that again either..

gvd79,

Thank you for you review on the hotel and the honest feedback. We are consistenly looking at ways to imrove our product and are in the process of replacing some of the carpet in our East Tower which is 4 years old. Our recent renovations have focussed on the lobby, restaurant and lounge and are shifting our focus to the guestrooms and meeting space.
