I came with my mom for a relaxing one night stay at the Westin and we were quite disappointed with our stay. The rooms were tidy, the staff were very accommodating and friendly and the beds were reasonably comfy. However, we arrived only to find out the air conditioning had not been working throughout the entire hotel and had been broken for 10 days. We were not notified of this before arriving and no information about the chillers had be posted on the website and no price reduction had been offered. I found parking to be overpriced (26.00 per night) and you are charged to use the wifi (10.00 per day). They kindly waived these fees after discussion regarding the air conditioning. Once arriving in our room we found it way too hot so we were moved to another room that was not facing the sun, it was much cooler (but still warm). The pool was quite a let down as we had hoped to lie out on the patio in the beautiful weather however their were no patio chairs and the deck was in the shade. Not to mention the pool was very small with no hot tub. We were all set to watch a movie on the particularly small screen but the tv's were very fuzzy and the hotels pre paid movie service would not work. Room service was very delicious but unfortunately the highlight of our night and overpriced. All and all would not stay here again.

Dear Kelli L,

Thank you for posting your comments about your recent stay. We had an unforeseen mechanical problem with our chiller that took much longer to deal with than we anticipated. This had a negative impact on our guests. I am pleased to read that our team was able to accomodate a room move for you and that they reversed the charges for some of the services you used.

I am grateful to you for taking the time to detail your concerns and do sincerely hope you will permit us an opportunity to regain your confidence in our services. I would be happy to discuss your recent experience with you personally. Please feel free to contact me directly at WestinEdmonton.01079@westin.com.

Be Well,
Joumana

Recently stayed in the Westin which everybody ended up calling the "Sweatin".
The day before our stay we were notified that the "chillers" were down, and that it didnt look like it would be fixed before the weekend was over. This made the problem sound recent.Much to my disappointment I found out by looking at reviews the air conditioner has been down for MONTHS. The management and employees were deceptive in this matter, like this was a new issue for them, which it was not. Was charged full price anyways.
The only positive I have to say was that it was a good location for what I was doing the weekend I was there. Sleeping was unbearable... dont go unless they guaranteed its fixed.

Room Tip: I cannot give an honest opinion on the room quality without starting to sweat thinking about it.

Dear Wiseelise,

We had an issue with our chiller in May and then got it up and running for the entire summer. On September 2 another part in the chiller broke causing the system to shut down completely. We were unsuccessful in fixing it prior to the weather changing. After our problems in May, we started the process of getting a new chiller to install over the winter months. Next year, we will have a brand new chiller that will ensure that we do not go through this challenge again.

Be Well,
Joumana

Had paid for a membership with CLUB HOTELS and part of the membership was a free night to stay at the WESTIN EDMONTON. Booked as per their request through the hotel and when we got there the manager would not stand behind the contract! (Neither would Club Hotel). Never gave us a reason other than he could not accept it. Said they would give us the room if we paid for it...AGAIN! I told my wife that I was taking her out that night so I took her to the HOTEL MACDONALD across Jasper Ave. to the south. Beautiful place...stay there if your in EDMONTON!

Dear kodadad,

I am disappointed to hear that you did not enjoy your stay with us. I have looked into our Club Hotel commitment and have found that we have not been part of that program for over a year. Your membership would have been expired and therefore our team could not honor it. Our Front Office Manager will take this opportunity to coach our team to ensure that clear reasons are communicated to our guests so that there is no confusion.

I do hope you will give us an opportunity to regain your confidence in our services.

Be well,

Joumana

not a four star hotel... spa closed on sundays, restaurant has no option for gluten free or lactose intolerance, Hotel bar is a big joke... this hotel is 3 Stars at the most...

Construction around this area is insane and there is no effort from the Hotel side to put up some temporary signs to find you way around all the road closer...

Dear JanSchwerdtner,

Our spa is run by a third party. I have passed your comments onto the owner so that she can respond to you. Our culinary team is proud to offer gluten free items and they are listed on our menu. As for lactose intolerance, I don't believe we have anything specific on the menu but our team would be happy to accomodate any dietary restrictions. Should you come back to try the restaurant, please let our team know and they will make every effort to find something to your liking.

Be well,

Joumana

The Westin Edmonton is exactly what you would expect from the Westin brand. It's clean, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and it's located right in downtown Edmonton. All in all, a good place to stay.

Already on my second room due to noisy festival going on the other side of the hotel. It's quiet now but even the the air conditioner is full cold, the room is at 77 degrees after 4 hours. Clearly unsat is factory for a Westin.
