When you first see the Canterra, it is not slick and amazing on the outside. The lobby is functional, the staff are very accommodating. When you first enter your suite, is very un-hotely. It is more like your friend "lent: you his apartment. It is bigger than my apartment, I think 900 square feet.
The bathroom is nice, good linen and rain shower style shower head. The bed is super comfortable, and there is an "office" room with a computer desk, which is great.
This is not a 5 star hotel, but it is the best of the 4 star hotels.
I met the owner/manager gentleman very sincere guy who takes pride in this establishment. Everything is close, Starbucks, Save-on, restaurants, City Center Mall, all within walking distance.
There are no mirrors on the ceilings, no romantic lighting, it is totally home away from home. having stayed at most of the hotels in Edmonton, this is my favorite, humble and functional. If it was raining out, and you had to stay in for two days, you would be fine. If you are a travelling business person, you will love it.More
