I didn't know what to expect - I had stayed at the Sawridge in Jasper which was very nice. The Edmonton location was just as appealing, and the staff were warm and hospitable.

Stay there if you're looking for a very pleasant and budget-friendly experience

I stayed at the Sawridge with family and friends for the long weekend because I was getting married on the August long weekend. There was a great discounted rate through the internet which they matched and they were nice about finding my fiance and I rooms right beside each other for the night before the wedding. One of the rooms we had 225, had a mini fridge in it and that was useful.

The lobby is very nice and modern we took some wedding pictures in front of the fireplace, waterwall, and hoodoos.

The beds were very comfy and the rooms were quite clean. The Royal Suite was big but looked a little dated. I think they could renovate the rooms to match the lobby. Overall I would stay at the Sawridge again. The only tiny problem I have and it is very small, is that other people I have heard that have gotten married and stayed at hotels overnight is that hotel will normally try to make up the room a bit, try to make it romantic or whatever or offer a special little something... free breakfast or something. The sawridge was business as usual. Not really special treatment at all, too bad. That would have made it perfect.

Our stay at the Sawridge was enjoyable. The price was very good, the staff were helpful and friendly, and the shuttle service was spectacular! They took us wherever we wanted to go at no charge, which was really nice.

The only negative things to comment on are that the hotel is right by a major street, so the traffic was pretty noisy, although it didn't wake me up too many times. The other thing is that the bathroom was not that clean when we checked in and the cleaning staff had not cleaned our room after our first night by the time we got back at around 5pm. They did clean it when we went out again, but I thought it should have been done by then.

We enjoyed our stay here. The staff was wonderful and made receiving an upgrade fun. The only thing missing was a pool and hot tub. We weren't overly impressed with the buffet breakfast but everything else was great!!

There was a group of 15 of us. The hotel staff were great, nothing was a problem for them. the bed was the best I have ever slept in. It was better than the Hilton. Pillows were awesome. It may have been slightly out if the way, but for around 10 dollars you can get a taxi into town. I would definately stay there again

My friend and I enjoyed this hotel which was easy to find as we arrived from Calgary. It was also close to the road that led us to Edmonton Mall. We dined at their "Creations" restaurant one evening which offered an interesting and creative menu and was very good although the portions were quite small. Both the bar and restaurant staff were professionally attentive. The room was well appointed and clean. We also appreciated the availability of free internet. The only negative comment to make was that a large tour coach was parked outside our ground floor room and when the passengers were standing around waiting to board they woke us up at 6:30 am with their loud chatter and the coach's engines took a while to warm up before leaving.

The only thing that was great in my mind was the fabulous atrium - and perhaps the restaurant (tho' not tried)
It was a letdown - just getting there because of its' one way street location & the way the one way streets are arranged with businesses twixt the two was difficult.
The room showed heavy use with dents, scratches, etc . There was no Fridge nor microwave
The elevators, when working, were slow as molasses with many using the stairs instead
As far as noise . . can't say we were bothered (facing street), but, not sure at back of the Hotel where there is a rail line next door.
We had thought of upgrading . . the manager said there were no rooms available . . . later, when we asked the desk clerk we were told yes - for $45. This made us reflect on the 'sized up' look we got when checking in . . . were we not the type of Client they want? Even first class premium hotels treat all the same . . . so, bottom line, we aren't sure about this Hotel & if ever in Edmonton again likely won't stay here.
