The rooms are really showing their age with things like marked furniture, worn carpets, and water stains in some parts of the ceiling and could really use some refurbishing. That said, the room was clean and comfortable. We could hear live music from somewhere a couple of times (presumably from one of the places in the attached mall) but none of it went on later than 10:30 PM to keep us awake. Attached mall offers a lot of amenities that are handy as you don't need to drive around to find things, and having a train station within walking distance was very useful. We'll certainly be staying here again the next time we're up in Edmonton for a weekend.

We enjoyed our stay immensely. The staff were all extremely courteous and obliging. The buffet breakfast was delicious, delightful and delectable. It's proximity to the indoor shopping malls came in quite handy during the cold snap.

Firstly, we didn't get the room we booked. Instead of a room with two double beds ,we were given a room with a king sized bed and a pull out couch .
The wifi didn't not work at all so I couldn't communicate with anyone from my room.
Out of all the hotels I have ever stayed in around Edmonton and city centre ;which are many, the room was spartan with old furniture for the same price as the Westin which I would rate at five stars ..
There was no breakfast included or amenities included.
We were quoted a price for the room at $179 ish but were charged $268/night with taxes..

The rooms were quite outdated. Especially the bathroom, very old toilet and tub. The tv in the bedroom kept breaking. It was not a clean room either. When we got there, there were still dishes outside the door from the people staying the night before. Inside the room was pretty beat up and not clean. This hotel has a lot of potential because it's attached to a mall, but renovations are really needed.

Booked a 1 bedroom suite expecting something nice but was shocked at what we were given. Torn wallpaper, electrical outlet in the bathroom very loose, frayed furniture and old, worn, dingy and dark.

Complained to the front desk and wanted to move to a different room. Response was that the hotel room are "tired and a renovation coming so all the rooms are like this".
All that was offered was complementary parking.

We stay at a lot of hotels (including Delta ....Burnaby which is quite lovely) so we were SHOCKED at how bad our room was. Will be sending a letter to corporate. If we preknown that we were staying in such a horrible room, we would have never booked here. It totally dampered the weekend.

What a terrible hotel.

A short review:

Positives:

Only one positive in my opinion - location

Negatives:

Dated ulgy rooms
Dirty - stains on 20 year old carpeting
Jacuzzi - doesn't work
5 minute walk to room
No windows - room smelled like 10 years of fabreze residue
Mediocre restaurant
Television 20+ years old
Thin walls - could hear the conversation in the next room

I have stayed at 6 Delta locations in the past year - all were great. It's about time that management either fully renovates this hotel or lower the rate to $60.00 as I would rather stay in a motel.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else

We've been to Delta's before, and had high expectations for this Delta! Pricing was a little high for parking in a parkade for $14 a day, and quite the walk to the hotel. The walls were super thin and we could hear everything in the rooms next to us. The Room was ok, aside from a random pillar in the middle of the room. King bed was nice! The "Jetted" Tub was disappointing, and was very dated and wasn't in good shape. I think its the only hotel that still has a Tube TV. Didn't expect to see that in 2014. Had High expectations and was severely disappointed. Most Likely would not recommend this hotel to any friends or family.
