This hotel is located close to downtown Edmonton. It will soon (2014) be within walking distance of the train to the centre. In the mean time, it's perfect for those with vehicles or bicycles.
The hotel is good for sleep, and possible swimming (did't try the pool). The grounds and view are unremarkable, but as a place to spend the night, it's perfect. Not very romantic, if that's what you're after.
Our room was incredibly quiet, despite the hotel being booked full. The hotel has a main building with some rooms, and "North wing" two-story structure (with many more rooms). We were in the North wing, up on the second floor. Absolutely no sound. Definitely no airplanes (despite being located by an underused airport). The room had a window to a foyer, and that had a window to the outside world. If you find windows important, you may want a room in the main building.
Beds were comfortable, and bedding was in good shape. There were abundant pillows.
I would not hesitate to take my family back here. I've stayed in much worse and much more expensive in Edmonton, and this hotel offers the quality bed of a high-end hotel at a much more reasonable price. Unlike the other downtown-area hotels, parking is free and plentiful.More
