Owner description: Whyte Avenue (also known as 82 Avenue) is an arterial road in south-central Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It became the main street of the City of Strathcona as it formed, and now runs through Old Strathcona. It was named in 1891 after Sir William Whyte, who was superintendent of the CPR's western division from 1886 to 1897 and was knighted by King George V in 1911. Old Strathcona is Edmonton's main arts and entertainment district, and is also a shopping hub for local residents and students at the nearby University of Alberta. Whyte Avenue, now a heritage area, is at the heart of this district, housing many shops, cafes, restaurants and bars.

We love the atmospher around the Fringe Festival. We love the farmer's market, the shopping on Whyte Ave, the patios (try 02!) and most especially the Continental Treats Bistro on Whyte Ave!

Thank Carolyn N

Whether you're looking for shopping, local cafe's, fantastic restaurants or a vibrant nightlife....Whyte ave has it.
We love going for a Sunday stroll with a coffee .
Or going dancing with the girls.
Always great for anything vintage.

I live close to Whyte Ave. and love it. I especially love all the independent businesses although I can see it changing. Not too much I hope. There's always lots to do and see in the area. Farmers Market close by and lots of festivals.
